Max Verstappen provides stone-cold response to question regarding Lewis Hamilton rivalry

Max Verstappen has been Lewis Hamilton’s greatest rival since 2021, and to date, the fire of competition still engulfs these two Formula 1 greats. Max Verstappen may not have dueled against Hamilton this year a lot, but the fans have long since anticipated an on-track battle between them.

Max Verstappen is known for his straightforward answers; it was also visible during the recent stories about possible Max and Lewis combinations on the same team when Max refused to comment. He has given out yet another sensational comment about Hamilton and it’s a cold response coming from the triple champ.

Verstappen provides crystal clear answer regarding Hamilton rivalry

Max Verstappen was in an interview with F1 expert, Roger Benoit. The F1 pundit asked him several questions about his personal and professional life and Max Verstappen readily answered them. Considering his longtime rivalry with the Mercedes ace, Roger brought up the fact that they couldn’t race much this year due to the Mercedes W14 being unable to catch up to the Red Bull RB19. He asked if Max missed driving with Lewis Hamilton and competing for wins, but what Max said next was completely unexpected.

Fans were expecting Max Verstappen to provide a good description of the past duels and claim how he missed their rivalry and track action. Instead, what they got was an indifferent Dutch champion, musing over the success of his team and particularly uninterested in Lewis Hamilton.

“No. I was happy with how this season went. Sure, I appreciate the duels we once had. But now I particularly appreciate the successes that we can celebrate as a team,” said Max. It’s clear that the F1 showstopper, Max Verstappen is more focused on racing rather any chivalry with rivals and it’s one of the most dominant factors that has defined Max’s career. Max doesn’t take things too far after the end of the season and immediately starts preparing for another season.

Verstappen predicts the future of F1

Formula 1 may be the pinnacle of motorsports but there have been many calls against the sport in recent years. Formula 1 cars run on fossil fuels, which is a major concern for environmentalists and protestors and numerous incidents have unfolded on the track due to oil and fossil fuel protestors.

Max Verstappen, too, provided his opinion on the increasing pollution concerns from F1 cars: “Petrol will probably be gone. But our sport is already becoming greener and more sustainable. Only one thing is certain: Max Verstappen will no longer be there.”

His quirky reply turned many eyes towards himself because the Dutchman has made it clear that he won’t stick around in the sport for very long. However, his words about Formula 1’s sustainability resonated with FIA’s ambitious dreams of making Formula 1 cars run on carbon-neutral fuel.
