Max Verstappen shares honest opinion on F1 Sprint Race: “I don’t get more excited”

Formula 1 is undergoing a series of substantial changes in the coming years to ensure the sport remains trendy, captivating, and appealing to spectators. However, amid these efforts to enhance the overall experience, the organizers have also prioritized the well-being of the drivers.

This commitment to both entertainment and driver comfort is maintained by the introduction of a new sprint race rule, a welcome development that has gathered positive responses from every driver on the grid, including Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen talks about the F1 Sprint Race

Ahead of the upcoming season, the Dutch sensation Max Verstappen is overjoyed by the fresh release of the news of bringing significant new rules and changes to the sprint format by labelling it “logical.”

Previously, Verstappen had conveyed several criticisms towards the format of the sprint race. However, the new rules have proved to be fair for every main driver on the grid.

According to the new rules, the sprint qualifying session will move to the second session on Friday, along with the sprint race scheduled for Saturday. Subsequently, the main race will take place on Sunday, preceding the Grand Prix to determine their racing order.

As Verstappen spoke to the media, he said, “I think it’s a bit more logical, I would say, with how the format is formed. For me, I don’t get more excited by winning a sprint or fighting for these kinds of races. But at least a bit more logical, I would say.”

The Dutch sensation also complimented the reopening of the Parc fermé after the sprint race to fix any set-up problems ahead of the Grand Prix. He said, “I think that’s a bit better. Sometimes you get stuck; you know that your strength is ruined, and you know you can’t really change anything. So for sure, it will help a bit.”

Max Verstappen’s performance in F1 Sprint Race

At the United States GP, Max Verstappen delivered a mind-blowing performance in the sprint race, finishing 10 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton at the Circuit of Americas.

Despite facing numerous challenges during Sunday’s race, including starting from sixth position and having a deleted lap time in Q3 on Friday afternoon, as well as Charles Leclerc starting on pole position and Lewis Hamilton’s consistent performance in overtaking him during the race, Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, still managed to secure success. This victory added another six wins to his tally of 11 in his career.
