Max Verstappen wants to improve RB19 despite dominating 2023 F1 season with the award-winning vehicle

Red Bull has undeniably been the dominant force through the current season, showcasing an impressive performance on the Formula One circuit. However, even with their overall success, there remains areas where the team acknowledges need for improvement.

Recently, Max Verstappen, the team’s star driver, has openly acknowledged to the media that the RB-19, the team’s current model, surely requires some modifications.

Max Verstappen wants to improve RB19

Max Verstappen’s sole performance in the 2023 season revealed an awareness of the team’s imperfections despite its glittering success. Along with the RB-19, the Dutch driver managed to win 19 out of 22 races, securing both the drivers’ and constructors’ titles.

However, even in a year marked by record breaking achievements and early title victories, Verstappen acknowledges to stay ahead of the other drovers, a constant progress is necessary.

The triple-time World Champion pointed to the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Circuit as a focal point for improvement, as it is the only Grand Prix where Verstappen failed to secure a win. Additionally, he also pointed to the Las Vegas GP for the challenges he faced in general while driving.

He said, “I think we know our weaknesses as well in the car, and that’s what we’ll try to work on, plus, of course, trying to make our strengths even stronger.”

“Of course there are [weaknesses]. Look at our race weekend in Singapore. In general, on street circuits, I think we are struggling a bit more, like in Vegas also.”, he added.

Verstappen’s openness about areas of weakness not only adds transparency to their strategy but also fuels anticipation for how Red Bull will address these challenges in the hunt for victory in 2024.
