Max Verstappen’s engineer skips post-race debrief despite F1 Champ’s 15th win in 2023

Max Verstappen is a multitalented motorsports driver, blooming with extraordinary talents. However, with fame comes hatred, too. The relationship between him and the team engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, was never filled with a shower of compliments.

The duo is often seen to be in a verbal battle, with both of their ideas contrasting each other. More questions arose when Lambiase was not seen at the US GP debrief after Verstappen’s victory.

Race engineer’s flight rush leads to missed debrief after Verstappen’s victory

Earlier at the US GP, Gianpiero was heard to be in a disagreement over the radio with Verstappen. The same scenario happened back in July in Belgium and in September in Singapore. The duo’s conflict never seems to end at all.

The spark of controversy ignited again when Lambiase was heard telling Verstappen, “See you on Friday,” after the race. Christian Horner cleared the rising rumors to the SkySports by saying, “Well, you know it was not a code or anything like that, so the marital bliss between the two of them just rolls on.

“He’s had to rush back to the UK so he was rushing to catch a flight,” Horner continued. “So yeah, it used to be Helmut [Marko] that left the track early, now it’s the race engineer that’s straight out after the race.”

Horner also gave some insight into Verstappen’s dissatisfaction during the race. “He was managing a brake issue throughout the race,” the team principal added. “You could hear, he wasn’t happy about the brakes.

“And when you’ve got that issue you are building in a bit of a margin. So I think all his focus was on that and he knew very well what the gap was and he was managing that.”

Max Verstappen clinches win number 15

Max Verstappen recently reached his 50th race win with astonishing performance at the US GP. The success was huge to the driver, as he won the GP despite starting from the sixth position, which can seem impossible to some ordinary drivers but not Max. Unfortunately, he got booed by the American fans in Austin while he was on the podium receiving his award.

When asked about his remarkable experience of clinching his 15th win of his entire career, he said “It’s of course incredible to win my 50th Grand Prix here as well,”

“Very proud of course and we will just keep on trying to push for more.”
