In the 2023 season, Max Verstappen’s dominance was a remarkable experience for Red Bull, clinching 19 victories and securing his third title at the same time. While everyone was busy celebrating his success, very little knew about the constant struggles Jos was going through because of his heart condition.

Despite fighting his health condition, Jos demonstrated unending support for his son by being a constant presence at most of the races Verstappen participated in throughout the season. The 51-year-old’s commitment to be beside Verstappen regardless of his condition was truly impressive.

When asked about his health condition, Jos said, “It’s annoying that I had it, but it’s now resolved. Fortunately, they were able to find the problem, and I now feel fit again.”

Max Verstappen ends F1 season with incredible success

Max Verstappen has been the man of the match in almost every race this season. The 26-year-old has marked his name further in the history of Formula One with his latest triumph, securing his 54th career victory. This made him third on the all-time list of F1 career wins, leaving the Dutch sensation behind Lewis Hamilton.

The final victory in Abu Dhabi marked a spectacular season for Verstappen, who held a record-breaking 575 points. The incredible performance also resulted in the largest winning margin in a championship, with a 290-point lead over his teammate, Sergio Perez.

In a post-race interview, Verstappen expressed his emotions, saying it was a surprise for the Dutch sensation to break numerous records in one single season.

He said “It was an incredible season,” Verstappen told reporters. “It was a bit emotional on the inside; it was the last time I was sitting in the car, which has of course given me a lot.”

Furthermore, he stated that it will be hard for the Red Bull driver to mirror similar performances in the upcoming season by saying, “It will be hard to do something similar again, but we definitely enjoyed this year.”
