Max Verstappen’s shocking admission raises questions about Red Bull’s preparation ahead of Las Vegas GP

Dominating a Grand Prix in Formula One requires a combination of exceptional skill, a high-performing car, and critical thinking ability. Currently, Max Verstappen is asserting his dominance in the entire industry with his exceptional driving skills, securing unending victories.

While it may seem that the Dutchman is nearly invincible in a race, the reality is that the sport is unpredictable, and the risk of losing is always present. Verstappen’s recent interview session worried his fans due to a lack of knowledge about the upcoming Las Vegas GP.

Verstappen admits limited knowledge of the Vegas track

Max Verstappen’s lack of knowledge about the Las Vegas GP is providing an opportunity for the rival team. The Las Vegas GP is filled with uncertainties as the event will take place at night.

The Red Bull driver has disclosed that he still has much to prepare for the race in Vegas, given that his familiarity with the track is solely confined to the F1 videogame.

Verstappen has been skeptical about the event since it was declared to be held. This proves to be quite a concern for the Red Bull team, as the circuit already poses several challenges to the other teams, ranging from single-digit temperatures to several management issues.

Addressing the media, the three-time World Champion admitted to having a lack of knowledge about the Street Circuit. When asked about his excitement regarding the event, Verstappen replied, “I’ll deal with that once I arrive at the track. There’s still a lot to do. I still need to go on the simulator. I still don’t even know the track, to be honest. The last time I tried it on the F1 game, I think I hit more walls than I was going straight, so let’s hope that’s not the case when I start driving there!”

“But it’s going to be very different to [Brazil]: very low temperatures, of course, in the night there. Street circuit. We have no experience there. We don’t know the track grip. All new, so maybe it will give you a few surprises. I don’t know.”

Max Verstappen eyes 18th win at Las Vegas

Max Verstappen has the opportunity to match Lewis Hamilton’s record for the highest number of pole positions in a single Formula One season at the upcoming Las Vegas GP. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Verstappen secured his 17th victory, breaking his own record. Winning the Las Vegas GP would mark the 18th victory for the Red Bull driver, adding to his list of successful triumphs in his career in 2023.

If he claims pole position both in Abu Dhabi and Las Vegas, “Mad Max” will surpass Hamilton and tie for third place with Ayrton Senna (1988 and 1989) and Alain Prost (1993).
