Jude Bellingham has been an unstoppable force of nature ever since he signed with Real Madrid this summer. Already settling into the team comfortably, he has been crucial, as Madrid have won all six of their games. Bellingham’s contribution is huge, considering he scored six goals, of which three were game-winners in the last minutes.
It is therefore clear that Jude Bellingham has now become a major concern for rival teams in the league. Managers are already thinking hard about how to best neutralize the Englishman. And ahead of a crucial clash against Atletico Madrid, someone has already articulated a counter-strategie.
Memphis Depay spoils plan to cope with Jude Bellingham
Ahead of the derby game against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid are already hard at planning. It is an important game that could decide the fate of the two teams in the league. And one of the problems Atletico must tackle is the ‘Jude Bellingham problem’. Manager Diego Simeone will have to think of a way to stop him.
The midfielder is developing a knack for scoring late goals, and it could be difficult to mark him considering that he is not actually a striker. So, Bellingham could definitely decide the game and therefore should be neutralized if Atletico wants to win.
However, Memphis Depay, the winger of Atletico Madrid, has also thought of a way to stop Jude Bellingham. It is quite simple and may seem hilarious, but it could be effective.
In an interview with ESPN, the Dutchman was asked about how his team can stop the in-form Jude Bellingham. In response, he cheekily replied, “I think we have to finish the game before the end so that he cannot score in the last minute, the winning goal. So, we have to be at least two ahead.”
The answer may be a bit hilarious, but if Atletico do want to have an advantage over their city rivals, a huge goal lead from the beginning may help them. Though Atletico may have another problem on their hands in the form of Vinicius Jr. who is back from injury.
Bellingham’s Real Madrid season so far
Bellingham has already established himself as the backbone of the team in a matter of weeks. With six goals and an assist, the youngster is already leading the La Liga top scoring charts. Thanks to his efforts, if Madrid won against Atletico, they would be at the top of the league table.
The Bundesliga Player of the Year is also a vocal leader on the pitch, helping to motivate his teammates to victory. At just the age of 20, Bellingham has shown more maturity and game hunger than some veterans of the game.
His game sense is also advanced, as he can find the right passes and be in the right place at the right moment. It feels like he understands his teammates’ moves so well, as if he had been playing with them for years.
Bellingham will hope to help his team win once again as he prepares for his first-ever Madrid derby clash tonight.
