Following a recent disappointing outing for the Minnesota Timberwolves against the New Orleans Pelicans, the assistant coach delivered a one-line brutal review of the team’s defense. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves’ G team welcomes an NBA veteran.

Micah Nori one-line sums up Timberwolves defensive performance

The Minnesota Timberwolves struggled in their recent matchup against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, which they went down by seven by halftime. Despite the team ranking 1st in the Western Conference, they have been off-tuned in this road game. In evaluating the Timberwolves’ performance at halftime, assistant coach Micah Nori, seemingly delivered the quote of the year during his interview.

Micah Nori said, “KAT was very good but our paint defense was like 7-11, open 24 hours especially when Rudy [Gobert] is off the floor with the foul trouble.” The Timberwolves, unfortunately lost the matchup by a huge difference of 14 points, 121-107. Karl Anthony Towns led the roster with just 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Mike Conley and Naz Reid, had 17 points apiece.

Rudy Gobert, plagued with fouls, had a subpar 6 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 25 minutes on the court. Adding to the team’s woes, was star player Anthony Edwards, missing in action, due to nursing a hip injury.

Interestingly, the New Orleans Pelicans saw a commanding performance from star player Zion Williamson, with a stunning 36 points on 13 out of 17 field goals. Also, while CJ McCollum achieved Impressive 23 points, Brandon Ingram tallied 20 markers.

Lance Stephenson joins Timberwolves G league team

The news of veteran player Lance Stephenson returning to the NBA, has evoked memories of his previous years in the league. The enigmatic guard has been out of the NBA since 2022, but he is now reportedly signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves’ G League affiliate, the Lowa Wild, as per reports by Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto.

The 33-year-old veteran, who previously spent 11 years in the NBA, had a six-game stint with the Timberwolves in the 2016-2017 campaign. He also played for the Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Atlanta Hawks.

Lance Stephenson, most recently, played for the Leones De Ponce in Puerto Rico, averaging 20.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 31.3 minutes on the court per game over four games. Lance Stephenson was recently spotted in Las Vegas this past Saturday, where he attended the in-season’s final matchup between the Indiana Pacers and the Lakers.

Lance Stephenson made his support for the Pacers known by recording a video and rooting for the team, which the Pacers posted on their official account. Nevertheless, with the Minnesota Timberwolves having an open roster spot, it will be fascinating to see what the team decides to do with Lance Stephenson and his extensive NBA experience.
