Mohammed Kudus Transfer: West Ham sign ‘terrific’ Ajax midfielder on €45,000,000 package contract until 2028

West Ham have started the season quite brightly, and the addition of Mohammed Kudus to their ranks is expected to improve their chances of finishing in the top half of the table this campaign. The Hammers finished 14th in the league last campaign, with a goal difference of negative 13, and a strong campaign in the Europa Conference League saved David Moyes from being axed from his job.

However, this season has begun differently for the London club, beating Chelsea and high-flying Brighton to make it two wins from three Premier League matches. New signings could affect how much stronger they’ll be heading into full-time action in the 23/24 season.

West Ham sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax with €45M deal

West Ham’s disappointing performance last season led to calls for David Moyes to be sacked. However, the club’s trust in the former Manchester United manager seems to have paid off as the Hammers turned the season around in Europe to win the Conference League trophy, their first major European trophy since 1965.

Despite their success in Europe, this wasn’t enough to convince captain Declan Rice to stay at the club, as he was sold to Arsenal for a club-record fee of £105 million.

With the departure of Rice, many predicted another struggling season for West Ham, but those predictions have taken a hit with the early performances of the London club. David has led the club to beat Chelsea and Brighton to win two of their first three opening Premier League games this season, but what’s probably most exciting about West Ham’s week is the €45 million signing of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax.

The Ghanian winger has been one of the major stars at Ajax, and the club conceded that they might lose him at some point this summer transfer window, with his talents and performances shining through Europe. The Hammers have won the race for the player, wrapping up the player on a five-year deal on the back of a 3-1 impressive win over Brighton.

West Ham boss David Moyes on Mohammed Kudus: “terrific young talent”

David Moyes is the man of the moment, and one can understand his excitement after the signing of Mohammed Kudus. Kudus is one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe, with the Ghanian scoring three goals in Ajax’s Europa League playoffs before completing his move to West Ham.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Mohammed to West Ham United,” Moyes excitedly declared. “He’s a terrific young talent who has already shone at the highest level for Ajax in the Champions League and made well over 150 senior appearances at the age of 23,” the West Ham boss added.
