Known for his dedication to promoting mixed martial arts in various capacities, Dana White’s influence is far-reaching. Reflecting on a past, Danis recently recalled a memorable incident when he was presented with a gift by the UFC president.

Despite receiving a pair of boxing gloves from the UFC president, the significance of this gesture resonated deeply with Danis. Although El Jefe’s MMA career has seen challenges, the 29-year-old fighter went on to secure a deal with Bellator and maintained an undefeated record as a welterweight contender.
Danis claims disagreeing with UFC boss results in firing
During the post-fight press conference following UFC 292 in Boston, Dana was questioned about the Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis fight. Despite his personal fondness for the Maverick, the UFC Chief expressed his opinion that the fight is not a compelling matchup.

In response to White’s remarks, Danis emphasized that he considers himself primarily as an MMA fighter and sees his involvement in boxing as a financial gain. El Jefe pointed out the appeal of the Logan fight comes from potential financial gains.
“I’m making more than anyone in the UFC besides Izzy [Israel Adesanya], Conor [McGregor], and maybe Islam [Makhachev]. But, I’m definitely making more than all those other guys and I haven’t fought in four years.” Danis said.
