The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots star Tom Brady has been an icon in the NFL world for more than two decades. Fans could barely digest the pain of not witnessing the GOAT on the field, albeit everything has an end and so does TB12’s career. However, after the quarterback announced his last time retirement fans were still waiting for him to make a U-turn.
Brady’s Bucs teammate Antoine Winfield Jr. earlier said the signal-caller is secretly being convinced by Tampa Bay while the Las Vegas Raiders Maxx Crosby earlier speculated his return to the NFL this year. Nevertheless, the veteran remained adamant about his decision, but seemingly he has a new development of the story now.
Brady’s remark sparks speculation about a potential NFL return
Brady recently shared an image of his fit physique in his Instagram story. The picture saw him being shirtless and promoting his personal Brady Brand with a twist. The California Cool showcased his coolness by tricking fans with a potential comeback rumor saying he is in search of a training camp ahead of the regular season.
“Side effects of the TB12 Sports protein… mid-August rolls around, and you start thinking about finding a training camp to show up to”, the caption said.
The 46-year-old might be joking for sure as he frequently smashed the comeback rumor. After retirement, he has been spending quality time with his three kids and making back-to-back business decisions by purchasing several sports teams.
Besides that, heading back to the football field might not offer the potential to the signal-caller, especially after passing for 25 touchdowns while recording one-and-done in the playoffs and ultimately going down to the Dallas Cowboys. If he returns to the field, he will be just the second QB in the league to continue playing at this age behind George Blanda who played till he was 48 years old.
Tom Brady announces permanent retirement after 23 NFL seasons
After spending an illustrious 23 seasons career with the Patriots and the Bucs, Brady retired from the NFL for the second time in February this year. He retired for the first time in 2022, albeit the decision remained active for only 40 days and he played one more season in Tampa Bay.
The dual-threat posted a video to X, formerly known as Twitter, to convey his retirement news saying it is “for good” and thanked everyone to keep hooting for him during his prolonged career.
“I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring. For good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record, and I’d let you guys know first…. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you all.”
Besides being labeled as the NFL GOAT, Brady is a three-time 1st-Team All-Pro selected, three-time NFL MVP, five-time Super Bowl MVP as well as a seven-time Super Bowl Champion. The legendary veteran will be eligible for the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2028.
