The Buffalo Bills selected Josh Allen as the 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The quarterback also didn’t fail to live up to the lofty expectations as he continued leaving his mark on the field.
With the addition of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, the AFC East has already become more formidable than ever before. Allen’s squad, being in the same division, is set to meet the four-time MVP’s team twice this season. However, keeping aside fierce competition, the Bills signal-caller always likes to gush about his childhood idol Aaron.
Josh Allen gears up for showdown vs. Rodgers
The Bills will face off against Gang Green on Monday night at MetLife Stadium. The match can be seen on channel 13 and it is expected to start with a Buffalo Plus Live pregame show at 7 p.m. The Jets new starter is also shedding optimism after appearing in his first preseason match since 2018.
Instead of having a tough equation with his opponent Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen was head over heels while talking about the 10-time Pro Bowler. Buffalo’s veteran, being nearly 13 years younger than A-Rod, said he grew up watching the former Green Bay Packers star’s play.
“I’m sure we’ll talk before the game. I’m such a big fan of his game and have been for a very long time. I grew up watching him and wanted to be like him on the football field, so it’s still a surreal feeling to be playing against someone like him, but also having a relationship with him. I could probably say a lot more, but don’t want to give him too much credit.”
Allen’s team is coming off a 13-3 regular season along with an AFC Divisional Round NFL Playoffs appearance. They are a 2.5-point favorite over Rodgers’ squad to secure a win in the match, per BetMGM NFL odds. The Bills are -124 on the money line while Gang Green is +106.
Josh joined Mahomes against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes paired up back in 2022 in the sixth edition of The Match at the Wynn Golf Club, and their rivals were two of the most successful icons of the NFL- Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
TB12 and A-Rod managed to make birdies on the first two holes to go 2 up in the round, albeit Pat and Josh were also going to give a tough competition by making some clutch putts. The Kansas City Chiefs two-time MVP scored a two-putt birdie on No. 5 to bring equality and made another putt in the round to ensure a lead for his team.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers former legend nearly clinched the win with his next putt, albeit he missed the chance. However, the Green Bay Packers’ former dual-threat turned himself into a threat on the Golf court too by hitting a tee shot on the green on the way to the win.
