However, Edge has faced many iconic superstars of the WWE throughout his career and one of them was John Cena. Despite all this both of them are in harmony with each other in real life as John paid tribute to Edge on his special occasion.

Since returning to WWE in 2020 after a nine-year break, Edge has faced off with the top talents of WWE, including Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles. Edge recently celebrated 25 years in WWE at SmackDown held in Toronto. His impact and influence in the wrestling world have been exceedingly widespread.

As the 49-year-old proceeded with his WWE run, he become a 7-time Tag Team champion. As a singles competitor, The Rated R Superstar went up against the most prominent names in the industry, including major title matches.

In the early 2000s, John Cena started to gain a massive fan following and soon rose to the top as a fan favorite. He was engulfed in a rivalry with Edge, which left a footprint in WWE history to this day. Fans cherish their rivalry even after 17 years of its beginning.

However, Cena congratulated his “arch-nemesis” on his 25 years in WWE before praising his dedication. “Edge, this is your arch nemesis John Cena saying congratulations on 25 years in the WWE. We are amazed at your professional dedication and passion,” said John Cena.

John Cena also posted a picture of Edge on his official Instagram account as a tribute to the R-Rated superstar’s WWE run. Many fans appreciated this gesture of Cena toward his arch-nemesis.

Cena was seen reduced to tears in heartfelt tribute months earlier

John Cena and Edge are two of the most iconic superstars in WWE. Their rivalry is considered one of the best to exist and has led to some great matches in the ring. The feud started in 2006 when Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank contract over Cena to win his first-ever WWE Championship. This memorable incident kicked off their ever-longing feud. The R-Rated superstar even slapped Cena’s father during their ongoing rivalry.

Outside of the ring, the pair are reported to be great friends. In June with teary eyes, Cena has spoken of how much respect he has for Edge.

Cena said: “I really hope everyone watching knows just how gifted, caring, and amazing Adam is. He’s just a… he’s a good human being, he’s a great human being, he loves sports entertainment. He’s given so much to you guys, and I also think he’s aware of what you’ve given him.”
