Months after rejuvenating his WWE career after visiting Edge’s house, Sheamus reveals “banger” plan for the “Rated-R Superstar”

Edge has had a magnificent pro wrestling career since his debut. In his 31 years of wrestling career, he has earned a massive fanbase and he also got recognized as a Hall of Famer in WWE. He has also been the WWE champion 11 times in his whole career.

The R-rated superstar was out of the ring for several months, but on this week’s SmackDown, he made an appearance. He is scheduled to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of his WWE Career on the August 18, 2023 episode of SmackDown.

However, after making an appearance the first thing he wanted was The Celtic Warrior Sheamus and proposed a face-off against him. Sheamus also accepted the challenge through a tweet.

Sheamus reveals plan for Edge on SmackDown next week

Since returning to WWE in 2020 after a nine-year break, Edge has faced off with the top talents of WWE, including Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles. However, he has never faced his friend Sheamus. Despite both having career aging more than 20 years, their paths have never crossed in a singles match in the ring.

But that might change at SmackDown’s 25th-anniversary celebration for Edge in his hometown Toronto. The Rated R Superstar specifically called out The Celtic Warrior by name in this week’s SmackDown, declaring “I want Sheamus!”. Responding to this, Sheamus tweeted on Twitter that he is going to make the face-off between him and Edge a 5-star rated match.

The challenge has been issued, and WWE wouldn’t want fans to miss this dream match between legends. Both Superstars built their careers side-by-side after emerging in the early 2000s. They both even helped each other in the ring several times. With limited time left in their respective careers, the time is now to finally see them face off at the peak of their powers.

The Celtic Warrior revealed how visiting Edge’s house rejuvenated his career

Sheamus is one of the very few superstars who has been active in WWE for more than a decade. But a near to career-ending concussion was supposed to corner The Celtic Warrior, rather it gave him the best run of his career instead. Sheamus has already carved out a Hall of Fame career.

While promoting his Celtic Warrior Workouts YouTube channel Sheamus told CBS Sports “I love what I do. I’m still very passionate about what I do, I’m probably more passionate than I’ve ever been.”

Sheamus suffered a terrible concussion at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, that sidelined him from the ring for nearly eight months. It was a visit to Hall of Famer Edge’s house that sparked a fire in Sheamus to make a legacy. There, he was confronted with the one roadblock to achieving a career Grand Slam. He won several titles after his return.

“When I got the concussion at Mania in New York, I thought my career was going to be over,” Sheamus said. “I kept doing Celtic Warrior Workouts and I was actually at Edge’s house and I saw the titles on the wall. I saw the Intercontinental title, and I was like, ‘I can’t give up now. I’m so close to getting that final piece of the puzzle.’ That motivated me to come back in the best shape possible.”

Even though Shaemus admires Edge to this extent, they never had a singles match in the ring. However, they are going to have their first-ever single bout against each other in the hometown of the Hall of Famer Edge.

Do you think Edge will go into retirement after facing Shaemus or will the R-Rated superstar will have a worthy rival for an upcoming arc? Let us know your thoughts on it in the comment section.
