Months after scoring big with sold-out launch, Nike drops “no smoke” colorway for Ja Morant’s signature sneakers

Ja Morant is one of the most promising stars in the NBA who is largely known for his electrifying style of play and impressive basketball skills. Despite the cloud of controversy shrouding the player, Morant has been quite phenomenal since his introduction to the game.

After ending their partnership with Kyrie Irving, Nike has swiftly activated a contract with Ja Morant. Although Ja Morant’s marketability could be questioned, it is seemingly going to hit off as Nike has placed their confidence in the Grizzlies star.

Morant’s signature sneakers get a bold upgrade

After Nike signed their partnership with Ja Morant, it was only a matter of time until the athlete got his signature sneakers. Now Nice Kicks has confirmed the availability of Ja Morant’s own line of special sneakers, ‘No smoke’ Nike Ja 1. Morant will be debuting his first signature Nike shoe once he’s done serving his 25-match ban issued to him by the NBA.

The Nike Ja1 is expected to be lightweight and was originally announced to be launched in the summer of 2023 with a retail price of $110 in adult sizes. It is available in three colors, “Phantom”, “Cobalt Bliss”, and “Game Royal”. The features and variations of the Nike Ja1 no doubt has really gotten an upgrade as it’s expected to perform well in the market.

Nike signed Morant after the brand parted ways with Mavericks star Kyrie Irving. Although fans had initially questioned Nike’s strategy in associating with a figure as controversial as Morant, it looks like the gamble has paid off in favor of the brand. Irving on the other hand has already signed a lucrative deal with sportswear brand Anta.

Ja Morant scored big win with sold-out launch of Nike Ja 1

As a basketball player, it is not enough to get a partnership deal with a top shoe brand but the ability to influence the buying speed matters a lot. Ja Morant had cultivated a great loyal fanbase because of his exceptional dunk skills and admirable personality. Morant debuted the Nike Ja1 on Christmas Day 2022 and since then, he has been driving up the product’s hype by exhibiting the three colors on the court.
