In a recent La Liga clash, Real Madrid squared off against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium in a thrilling encounter on Saturday. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with both teams sharing the points in an evenly contested battle. The game lived up to expectations, featuring plenty of goals and controversies.
Vinicius Jr.’s brace canceled out the host’s 2-0 advantage, salvaging a point for Los Blancos. Jude Bellingham was penalized after a furious exchange with the match referee, following the disallowance of his last-gasp winner, sparking debate over the call. During the match, Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby suffered a horrific injury.
Mouctar Diakhaby injury report
Los Ches struck twice in quick succession, with goals from Hugo Duro and Roman Yaremchuk in the first half. The visitors bounced back, with their Brazilian international winger, Vinicius Junior, netting twice upon his return to the hostile Mestalla ground, where he was subject to racial abuse last season.
At the end of regular time, Mouctar Diakhaby was stretchered off, evidently in severe pain with the defender lying still on the ground after suffering a horrifying knee injury. The Guinea international is reportedly out of action for the remainder of the season, which is a huge blow for Valencia.
Diakhaby was involved in an accidental collision with Real Madrid player Aurélien Tchouaméni, who lost control in the box while attempting to win the ball and collided with the Valencia defender, injuring him in the process. The extent of the injury was clear, leaving players from both teams in a state of shock.
The club released an update on their player’s injury: “Mouctar Diakhaby has been diagnosed with a dislocated right knee in tests carried out following Valencia CF’s game at Mestalla against Real Madrid. The center back remained in the hospital overnight and will undergo further tests.” the statement read.
