NBA analyst reveals Michael Jordan’s admission to ‘similarities’ with Anthony Edwards game style

During his career, Michael Jordan not only left an unmatched legacy but also set the bar for the best players in the game. From LeBron James to Kobe Bryant, there has been a never-ending buzz surrounding whether they could reach the Jordan level. While reaching or surpassing MJ is a matter of debate, there will always be those who are influenced by him and model their game after his.

Anthony Edwards can be categorized in this section of players. For the Ant Man, Jordan comparison is nothing new but to be certified by the Bulls legend himself is certainly a major indication of the Timberwolves star’s massive potential.

Michael Jordan’s true feelings on Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards cemented his name on the elite dunkers list following his monstrous dunk on Jazz’s John Collins in the Minnesota Timberwolves versus Utah Jazz game on Monday. The video of the shooting guard’s dunk surfaced on the internet drawing the attention of the NBA circle.

Recently, sports analyst Chris Broussard took a step to establish that there are similarities between the 22-year-old and the Bulls star by reaching out to the GOAT himself.

Broussard said on FS1’s First Things First, “I reached out to the GOAT today” referring to the 6-time NBA champion, “He agreed. If Jordan says there are similarities, then there are similarities.” Jordan confirmed the resemblances settling the matter.

Since his draft as the No. 1 overall pick, the Minnesota guard has been compared to the NBA legend Michael Jordan like many others in different generations. Edwards always got praised for his athletic abilities, his footwork and ball handling skills which reminded the NBA community of MJ.

Anthony Edwards garners face of the NBA praise

Over the years, Anthony Edwards received applause for showcasing his true potential in the Timberwolves colors, but Paul Pierce’s compliment certainly tops them all.

Talking on Undisputed on FS1 about Jalen Brunson and Edwards, Pierce explained how difficult the Ant-Man’s two-foot dunk was, that too against the guy who himself shoots great dunks similar to his.

The former NBA champion stated, “What was more impressive to me about this dunk you know what it screamed to me? It screamed to me that we’re seeing exciting plays from this guy night in and night out and I think we’re potentially looking at the face of the league.”

In the third quarter of Monday’s game, Anthony Edwards climbed over Collins to shoot the dunk which ended up injuring both of them. Although Collins left the floor and did not return, Edwards came back to contribute to the 114-104 win which shows his zeal like that of Jordan.

Edwards is currently averaging 26.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game this season while shooting at 46.7% from the floor and 37.1% from the 3-point range.

Do you think Anthony Edwards can be the next face of the NBA?
