NBA HOF Charles Barkley once felt “embarrassed” over his Tom Brady crush

Despite being an undersized player, the former NBA star Charles Barkley used to rule fan’s hearts by overshadowing his rivals on the basketball court. From controlling the defensive rebound to dribbling the length of the court for a perfect finish, he never failed to earn heavy praise from fans.

Besides being a veteran player, Barkley is also famous among fans for his instant wit and hilarious personal stories. Once, he made netizens burst into laughter by sharing a hilarious story with New England Patriots legend Tom Brady.

Charles Barkley revealed his crush on Tom Brady

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in 2019, Charles Barkley shared a story of his encounter with Brady. The California Cool’s former coach, Bill Belichick, invited him a few days before the Super Bowl that year. The ex-NBA star revealed how he felt embarrassed after looking into TB12’s eyes while communicating with him.

“I’m looking at these guys, and all of a sudden I look at Gronk (Rob Gronkowski), and then Tom Brady’s like right here. And I look him in the eyes, and I said, ‘Damn, you a pretty man.’ That’s what I was thinking to myself, and I got so embarrassed, I started to turn my head to talk to him”, he said.

He kept on saying that the 46-year-old footballer’s eyes played a major role in his phenomenal success, as the rivals couldn’t help falling for the charm of his eyes.

“I was like, ‘Hey Tom, it’s good to see you, man. I haven’t seen you in a while.’ I see why he scored them touchdowns because the defense will look at his eyes, and they get mesmerized. That Tom Brady, he’s a pretty man, y’all. He’s a nice guy, too, but, man, I can’t look him in the eyes again. He’s living a good life.”

The basketball vet wasn’t alone in getting lost in Tom Terrific’s eyes, as Shaquille O’Neal also earlier shared a similar encounter with the Patriots legend during an episode of “Inside the NBA.”

Charles Barkley once put Tom Brady over LeBron James in an accomplishment

The Brady-LeBron career comparison has always been a hot topic in American sports. While appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, Charles Barkley joined the discussion by placing the ex-NFL star over the NBA star.

“Tom Brady. We shall appreciate Tom Brady more. Number one, 10 Super Bowls is incredible, but the thing that’s crazy why I put football accomplishments ahead of basketball accomplishments is you know, every game in the NFL is a one-game-you-out, you’re done.”

The vet continued the discussion by saying the basketball world boasts of having many superstars in the league but having a phenomenal seven-time Super Bowl championship career like Brady’s is incomparable.

“[In the NBA] If you got Kareem, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe [Bryant], LeBron [James], Michael [Jordan], you got the best player in every game, you can lose one game… But to have every game be a Game 7, no matter how great your regular season was, to have every game to be the end your season and for this man to make it to 10 Super Bowls and win seven, it’s one of the greatest accomplishments in history.”

After heading to the league in 2000, Brady didn’t miss a single chance to uplift the Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his prolonged two-decade career. Not just Barkley, the majority of NFL fans and analysts consider Brady as the GOAT of the league.
