One of the NBA’s iconic players Michael Jordan clearly cherished the moments he shared with his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy when they were still together. Jordan, who had a phenomenal NBA career with six league titles and numerous individual awards, had his ex-wife’s full support.
In one of Jordan’s interviews back then, the Chicago Bulls icon expressed what his then-wife meant to him. Jordan carelessly embarrassed Vanoy as he alluded to her cooking, as she was still learning how to cook at that time. Since the split, everyone has been wondering the way forward for them.
Michael Jordan once hilariously made fun of his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy
Following the revisit of the 1990 Jordan’s interview with his then-wife by his side, he hilariously made fun of her during the interview. Jordan said “Her? Very independent, very demanding, and, of course, you know, very caring. Good mother. Learning to cook. I love her to death, though. I mean she’s got a sense of humor just by hanging around her.”
Despite Vanoy’s visible embarrassment, she just laughed it off and hugged Jordan to avoid a public dispute. Michael Jordan proposed to Vanoy in 1985, during the early years of his NBA career. After they got married in 1989, they had three children: two sons (Jeffrey and Marcus) and a daughter (Jasmine). Unfortunately, their marriage lasted for only 17 years, and after several efforts by both parties to resolve issues amicably, they decided to dissolve the union for good. At that time, Jordan’s divorce settlement of $168 million was the largest ever for a celebrity and became a matter of public notice.
Since then, Vanoy has gone on to own a luxury clothing boutique, known as Juanita World, which specializes in designer clothes, handbags, shoes, belts, and jewelry. She was reported last year to be a co-producer of the Broadway Musical Comedy ‘Some Like It Hot.’ Furthermore, she is also reported to not be married since the rift with Jordan. On the other hand, Jordan, after a successful NBA career, currently owns the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA, although he recently sold his major stake for around $3 billion
Who is Michael Jordan’s current wife after Juanita Vanoy divorce?
Since the split with Vanoy, Jordan has moved on with his life by remarrying another woman. Jordan met a 5 foot 6 Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto in 2008 and moved in together in 2009. They got engaged two years later and married on 27 April 2013. They had twin daughters (Victoria and Ysabel) less than a year after marriage on 11 Feb. 2014. This increased Jordan’s total number of children to five from two marriages.
Professionally, Prieto has endorsed different fashion brands and has also worked in the real estate and healthcare industries. Michael Jordan could be trying his best to see his new union last longer while working with his wife Prieto to keep their family lives as private as possible.
