Miami Heat’s young talent Tyler Herro could soon be seen playing in new colours in the upcoming season of the NBA. The departure of Herro is indirectly dependent on the arrival of Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers. If the deal between Heat and Blazers go well, Tyler could see himself preparing for an exit from the Miami side.
Tyler has proven himself to be an able player for Miami Heat. He played a key role in their run to the NBA finals in his second season. Herro’s versatility to play as a point guard and a small forward makes him a valuable asset for any team. Now rumours are circulating that Jazz, Bulls, Hornets and even Nets would be interested to pick the young talent up.
Jazz, Bulls, Hornets, and Nets are expected to show interest in Tyler Herro
Several teams in the NBA like the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets have shown their desire to sign the 23 year old Miami Heat player as reported by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. Tyler Herro is a valuable sixth man in his current condition who can make a difference coming off the bench. He has been named the Sixth man of the year in the 2021-22 season where he scored 20.1 points coming off the bench.
Tyler is still young and has got lots of potential, currently he is a skilled scorer with good shooting abilities. His passing skills are also up to NBA standards and he can also collect rebounds which is surprising given his size.
The defenses however need some real work. Herro is not very efficient defensively and can be a liability when it comes to man to man pressing tactics. Even the box defending tactic leaves spaces because of him. He has been working on it and given his young age he will soon improve if he works hard at it.
What is Tyler Herro’s current contract with Heat?
Tyler Herro’s current contract with the Miami Heat is a four year deal which is worth around $120 million. Herro extended his contract in the October of 2022, which makes him eligible to stay with the heat till the 2026-27 season.
The contract also has a player option clause for Herro which allows him to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2026-27 season. Tyler’s contract is one of the largest for any player who has been in the NBA for only four years. This contract shows the faith of Miami Heat in the development of their 23 year old rising star. Herro’s performance also goes to justify the heavy pricetag he has, he just needs to work even more on his defensive side and improve his technical skills as well.
