Lively is a young talent for the Mavs who was traded to the Mavs by the Oklahoma City Thunder after the latter team drafted the youngster as the twelfth overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Dereck has shown signs of great potential, as he scored 16 points and collected 10 rebounds in his debut match against the San Antonio Spurs. It is understandable why the Mavs are not willing to trade the youngster, as he will be a great pillar for the team in the future after maturing in the league. On the contrary, veteran Pascal Siakam was recently traded to the Indiana Pacers.
Mavericks keeping an eye on Jerami Grant
Another NBA trade rumor has suggested that the Dallas Mavericks have their eyes on Blazers player Jerami Grant. HoopsHype’s NBA insider Michael Scotto has revealed that the Mavs are keeping tabs on Grant. He said, “The Mavericks have kept tabs on Jerami Grant in Portland.” He also revealed that the Mavs are thinking of an offer proposal to present to the Blazers asking for Grant in exchange.
The offer could include some combination of Jaden Hardy, Josh Green, and Grant Williams and some draft compensations in exchange for the forward. Jerami would be a good fit for the Mavs, playing alongside their star players Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. He would bring a much-needed front-court upgrade to the Mavs squad and also provide squad depth that would help the Mavs head coach in deciding efficient rotations.
