Dak Prescott quickly established himself as the ideal replacement for Tony Romo after being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. After helping the Cowboys to 12-5 records in back-to-back seasons, he also cemented his place in Dallas by being their apple of the eye.
Before the regular season began, the renowned quarterback got a tattoo, following a recent fad among A-listers and sportsmen. However, it took a while for him to receive the tattoo, which led some of his supporters to subtly criticize the quarterback.
Dak Prescott reveals he got sedated for 11 hours
Prescott disclosed getting tattooed by Andres Ortega of the Arizona business Onder Link back in March in an interview with Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. During the tattoo procedure, he was under sedation for about 11 hours to cover his entire leg with an enormous tattoo.
In order to give it a different presentation and a distinctive style, the 30-year-old told the artist to include a variety of images, including photos of numerous legendary sports figures like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Muhammad Ali.
The star player’s large tattoo also included a Pegasus image as a tribute to his late mother. Dak lost his mother in 2013, who battled colon cancer until she passed away.
Dak Prescott didn’t forget about his late brother, Jace Prescott when getting the tattoo. The Cowboys legend frequently voiced his sorrow for the untimely loss of his brother Jace, who passed away in 2020 after making a suicidal attempt due to extreme frustration. He presented a moose portrait as a token of love for Jace.
NFL fans troll QB Dak Prescott
After getting a large tattoo on his leg, Prescott inscribed his name next to those of his teammates, Tony Pollard and CeeDee Lamb. Even though the procedure is drawn out and requires patience, the quarterback insisted that he was not at all scared.
However, the dual-threat quarterback collected a pile of backlashes following his statement after getting the tattoo.
“Saying you’re not afraid of nothing and then getting sedated for a tattoo session is wildly hypocritical,” one fan commented.
According to reports, the Cowboys are struggling as a result of their poor preseason play, in which they only managed to win one out of three games. After a disappointing preseason, Dak Prescott decided to start a mental training program to instill more confidence in the guys.
Hence, many fans trolled him while urging him to focus more on their upcoming stints instead of leg tattoos.
“He needs to focus on football instead of leg tattoos,” one comment read.
The Cowboys have won many challenging games under the command of their sixth-year quarterback. However, following the disappointing preseason game, Cowboys supporters are hoping to witness a strong rebound from the team.
