NFL expert Nick Wright boldly claims one team to go 20-0 this season, but fans remain unconvinced

The Kansas City Chiefs are undoubtedly on their way to writing a new dynasty in the NFL after winning two Super Bowl titles in the last four years. While the team is on its way to earning its third and consecutive Vince Lombardi Trophy this season, FS1 personality Nick Wright predicted Patrick Mahomes’ team would earn this year’s title without going down to any team in the league.

The Miami Dolphins are the first team in the history of the NFL to record a perfect season, as they didn’t embrace loss in any single game back in 1972’s regular season and the postseason (17-0) before the journey with the Super Bowl title under the guidance of former head coach Don Shula back in 1972.

During a recent appearance on FS1’s “First Things First”, Wright boldly predicted Mahomes’ squad to go undefeated with a 20-0 record while confidently saying, “Drop the banner.”

However, this is not the first time for the analyst to deliver such a bold claim, as he made the same statement back in March as well, saying Kansas City would be the only second-team in the history of the NFL to win all the regular season games after the Miami Dolphins.

“I have been calling the Bengals the Chiefs rivals. I want to announce who the Chiefs’ rivals is this year. I’m batting my eyes on 20-and-0″ while pointing to the image of the 1972 Dolphins team.

Following the Dolphins, the retired NFL star Tom Brady‘s New England Patriots came close to the record in 2007 after finishing the season with a 16-0 record, albeit they fell short to the New York Giants in the last run. Following TB12’s Patriots’ team, the Carolina Panthers got close to an undefeated season in 2015 by starting out 14-0, albeit they too fell short in the Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Chiefs squad is undoubtedly a hot favorite to win this year’s Super Bowl title as well, but Nick’s bold prediction of having a perfect season was scrutinized by many fans.

A user wrote, “@getnickwright tbh has never been good in a sports talk show setting. Just being real. but all he does anymore is talk absurdly clownish just to get traction and views. It’s annoying asf.”

A fan wrote, “I’m a chiefs fan n can’t stand Nick, can’t imagine how much non-chiefs fans hate him.”

Pat’s one of the most important weapons on the roster Chris Jones is still having a holdout ahead of the new season. Meanwhile, the team’s coach Andy Reid’s recent comments signaled their potential move of preparing to play their season opener game against the Detroit Lions without the 29-year-old veteran. Hence, many NFL fans claimed the Kansas City-based team only got worse this season.

A netizen wrote, “This team got worse this off-season, not better. If you factor in the young guys from last year making a jump, then maybe they stayed the same.
