After being released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this summer, Dalvin Cook is yet to find his next home in the NFL. Though the running back has recently shared that he is actually enjoying the process of finding a new destination, he might not like the off-field issues stemming from the allegations of his ex-girlfriend Gracelyn Trimble.
Cook has been facing legal battles due to abusing Trimble several years ago. Meanwhile, a recent report obtained by Rochelle Olson of the Minneapolis Star Tribune from a sealed court filing showcased he offered a significant amount of money to make peace with his ex-partner.
Dalvin Cook allegedly offered his ex-girlfriend $1 million to clear abuse charges
According to Star Tribune reports, Cook initially offered his ex-partner $800,000 to clear his allegations and asked her to sign a sworn affidavit to deny any abuse claims, albeit she denied the offer. However, he reportedly followed up with another offer worth up to $1 million as well as asked her to send a letter to the league to let him out of the case, but she denied this offer too.

The 27-year-old footballer said in a deposition, he was informed about the offer from his lawyers in May. Trimble’s attorney Daniel Cragg said the free agent’s initial offer itself highlighted his “evidence of a crime”.
“This does not pass the smell test, and can and should be admissible as evidence of Cook’s consciousness of guilt,” Cragg said.
Why was lawsuit filed against Dalvin Cook in 2021?
Dalvin‘s ex-girlfriend Trimble filed a lawsuit accusing him of assault, battery, and false imprisonment back in November 2021. The ex-couple reportedly met in Florida back in 2018. Gracelyn said she wanted to break up with the ex-Vikings star and flew to Minnesota in November 2020 as a means to part ways.
However, the RB ‘allegedly’ got irritated when asked to help with loading up her belongings and “grabbed her arm, and slung her whole body over the couch, slamming her face into the coffee table and causing her lower forehead and the bridge of her nose to bust open.”
According to the lawsuit, Gracelyn attempted to Mace her ex-boyfriend but accidentally sprayed her own eyes and when she went to wash it off, he allegedly assaulted her again in the washroom. She later went into the bedroom to pick up Cook’s gun and called her mate. He threatened her after hearing the conversation and beat her up yet again with a broomstick.
However, Dalvin’s attorney David Valentini denied all the allegations back then and said in a statement on behalf of the football star in 2021 that he did nothing wrong.
“We are confident a full disclosure of the facts will show Mr. Cook did nothing wrong and any injury Sgt. Trimble may have sustained that evening was the result of Sgt. Trimble’s own unlawful conduct.”
The prolonged case is yet to be solved and the four-time Pro Bowler might also face penalties under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Stay with us to get the latest development on the incident.
