NFL Legend Steve Smith Sr. delivers harsh message to Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy after heated pregame argument

The tenure of Jerry Jeudy with the Denver Broncos has been the subject of trade rumors in recent years following his declining performance. The Broncos were also seemingly losing their supremacy, like their players and fell to the game after accepting a terrible defeat to their divisional rival, the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, before the game, some fireworks began flying at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City between Broncos player Jerry Jeudy and NFL analyst Steve Smith. The analyst and the player both chose not to stop and entertain the NFL world apart from on-field play with a heated cold war.

What did Steve Smith Sr said to Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy?

The story began ahead of the Broncos’ Week 6 “Thursday Night Football” matchup with the Chiefs. In his podcast, Smith used some harsh words for Jeudy, a ‘J.A.G.’, Just a guy,” that he later felt should not be said. Hence, before the match, he appeared in front of Jerry to seek apology from him.

With his utter surprise, the Broncos player also did not mince words in responding to the NFL analyst’s criticism.

“So when I saw him, he’s playing well, and I wanted to say to him face-to-face, ‘Hey, I know I’ve said some things in the past that I probably shouldn’t have, and I’m sorry. His response was, ‘n—, I don’t f— with you.’ And he repeated it.”

Smith was surprised with the reply, hence again providing a sly jab to the player when he got the mic before the game. He said he would urge the Broncos to trade their receiver, as he doesn’t possess the quality of granting criticism.

“So when teams call me, asking should they trade for you, I will say, ‘No, do not trade for Jerry Jeudy, because he is mentally unable to handle constructive criticism from people who watch, specifically, can he be a wide receiver?’

Jerry could have stopped it there, but he decided to throw another shot on Smith. The player started dancing and yelling in the background of the NFL Network camera shot.

At that time, Smith felt genuinely regretful for his harsh words. However, following Jeudy’s actions, he couldn’t resist expressing his grudges against Jerry. He then posted the clip on X, accompanied by a witty and cutting caption and a salute emoji.

Panthers GM Scott Fitterer is “annoyed” with Steve Smith Sr. and Jerry Jeudy drama

Jerry Jeudy is already in hot water following his performance on the field, where he has recorded just 17 receptions, 208 yards, and zero touchdowns through four games. His recent brawl with Smith has once again brought him into the spotlight.

While the incident provided NFL fans with a rare heated exchange between an NFL analyst and a player, it appears that Carolina Panthers GM Scott Fitterer was quite displeased with the Smith and Jeudy saga.

This is totally an unprofessional act by both persons. In order to prevent such dreadful problems, the general manager expressed optimism that previous team members and ambassadors will act more professionally in the future.
