Two things in the NFL perhaps can’t be replicated – Tom Brady’s legacy to pave the way for Bill Belichick to be the head coach with 300th regular season wins and seven Super Bowl glory. In the eyes of the Indianapolis Colts owner, the feat can only be accomplished by an athlete from a different world.
The Houston Texans rookie player C.J. Stroud already ruptured one milestone of the NFL legend, yet the recently retired NFL player is poised to learn whether Stroud is prepared to smash his Super Bowl milestone.
Tom Brady and C.J. Stroud’s lighthearted wager
The annual Ohio State-Michigan rivalry game brings out some of the most intense competition to set their legacy. The rivalry this year garnered more attention when the league’s former best and best rookie joined a lighthearted wager showdown regarding the game. The former Michigan product already won seven Super Bowls, bolstering with all the capacity to throw a bet on the Ohio State product who just recently joined the NFL and has been vying to clinch his first Lombardi Trophy this season.
On his Let’s Go! podcast, the 46-year-old felt motivated to use one of his Lombardi Trophy making a fantasy wager that if Stroud’s college is able to manage the win, one Super Bowl ring of the fifteen-time Pro Bowlers will be handed to one of the leading candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
“If Ohio State wins, you get one of my Super Bowl rings,” he said per Texans Wire USA Today.
Tom Brady also set his side in the wager that Michigan State can shine on his face. The thing that the former player asked for in response was Stroud’s resilience and athleticism to make a successful career like Tom Terrific.
“And if Michigan beats Ohio State, then you got to give me all your youth, your agility, your time in the 40-yard dash and all your future years in the NFL.”
Tom purportedly took the initiative to learn Stroud’s excitement in this bet, saying “How about that?”. However, for Stroud, “That’s a bet.”
The 2nd-ranked Wolverines will host the No. 3 Buckeyes on Nov. 25. Meanwhile, Brady was feeling nervous to bet one of his best assets while the Texans rookie already assured him not to touch his rings as Stroud wants his own.
Stroud marvels at meeting Brady
Stroud’s super showmanship on the field assisted the Texans to boast a 5-4 start and already the rookie player gathered a pile of experience in his rookie season. Nevertheless, for the rookie player, meeting the NFL legend was a great opportunity as it aided him to learn some tactics that he can’t earn rushing on the field.
“That meeting really instilled a lot of confidence in me and told me, man, like, I can do this,” said Stroud.
Apart from athletic spirit on the field, Belichick’s former player has a high standing for his supportive nature towards the players on the field and locker room. Hence, after witnessing his guidance and encouraging attributes closely, Stroud has nothing but to admit Tom Terrific as an NFL legend.
“Seeing Tom, and him being so personable and so relatable, and you would think like he’s a seven-time NFL champion, a MVP, this G.O.A.T. status quarterback, but he was really vulnerable in that moment [and] he really made it easy for us to understand what he was talking about.”
While Tom Brady’s era ended this season, Stroud’s era just has started. Even Travis Kelce also feels confused if his pal Patrick Mahomes can match Tom Brady’s Super Bowl run.
