Both of them were initially part of new Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff but opted to follow a different path to the professional level.
Grubb and Huff’s journey to the Seahawks began when they joined DeBoer at the University of Washington. They followed him from his previous coaching position. However, instead of making the expected move to Alabama with DeBoer, they raised the eyebrows of fans by choosing to stay in Seattle.
Ryan Grubb initially sought the head coaching position at Washington, but later redirected his path to Alabama. His history of coaching at various institutions, including South Dakota State, Eastern Michigan, and Fresno State, makes him a valuable addition to the Seahawks.
Scott Huff has served as Washington’s offensive line coach since 2020 and previously held the role of offensive line/run game coordinator from 2017 to 2019. He stepped into the shoes of Andy Dickerson as the Seahawks’ new offensive line coach. Dickerson recently joined the Cleveland Browns as their offensive line coach.
