The Baltimore Ravens look ready to add the top players in the league to their roster after wrapping up the previous campaign having posted a 10-7 record and the No. 6 overall seed in the AFC.
The team is still reportedly on the table to provide a contract extension to their experienced running back JK Dobbins. However, the deal appears to be going nowhere and the franchise seems to have shifted their focus on signing another free-agent defensive end in the veteran’s place.
Ravens reportedly want to sign Jadeveon Clowney
Despite having five great men in the depth chart, the Ravens still may not shy away from bolstering their defensive room. The Athletic reported that the team is in need of a veteran edge rusher which prompted them to see free agent Jadeveon Clowney in a visit Tuesday.
“The Ravens, who have a clear need for a veteran edge rusher, hosted the 30-year-old Clowney on a free-agent visit Tuesday. They didn’t immediately sign him, but they remain open to the possibility.”
NFL insider Ian Rapoport also reported that Jadeveon is expected to join the Baltimore team’s training camp soon if the former Cleveland Browns player mulls his decision to add him.

Throughout his tenure with the Browns, Titans, and Texans, the 30-year-old has appeared in 109 regular season games, recording 320 total tackles, 43 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, and one interception.
Details on JK Dobbins’ future with the Ravens
After a season-ending injury, Dobbins’ future with the Baltimore team has become rather complex. Additionally, Jk is entering the final year of his rookie deal that he signed in 2020. Hence, a contract extension deal is necessary to secure his future with the team. Although it appeared that both parties had engaged in some contract discussions this offseason, to date there has been no news of a breakthrough.
Reportedly, the running back skipped out on the workouts during training camp, but neither he nor the team has provided an explanation.
Regardless, the Ravens’ head Coach John Harbaugh seemed hopeful about the comeback of Dobbins in the field. Harbaugh revealed that they are on the table with their four seasons vet and the good news could come very soon.
“The ball is in J.K.’s court,” Harbaugh said. “We have talked. We talked again yesterday. We had a great conversation. I do expect him back very soon, but I don’t have anything to say about it. It’s up to J.K., so hopefully that will happen soon.”
Before the season starts, these contact issues raise concerns about the team’s uniformity however, the new signings could offer a potential solution.
