Jake Paul along with his older brother Logan and British Twitch streamer KSI, popularized influencer boxing on the world stage. Paul made his name with a scintillating one-punch knockout of Nate Robinson, the three-time NBA Slam Dunk champion.
Paul’s notoriety in the boxing world has made many call for a fight with him from other combat sports and also from athletes of sports like the NBA and NFL. Recently, a Super Bowl champion, active in the NFL called out Paul.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill calls out Jake Paul
Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver and a five-time first-team All-Pro, expressed his desire to fight Jake Paul during an appearance on the Fully Tilted podcast with Bob Menery. Hill openly discussed his aspirations in combat sports during the podcast conversation.
“I want to meet Dana White. I want to get in the cage. It’s either I want to get in the cage or I want to box”, Hill said to Menery who happens to be a very good friend of the UFC CEO. Hill went on to state that he intends to face Jake Paul in what will be his debut in professional boxing.
Moreover, Tyreek Hill also remarked that he grew up boxing but does not do it anymore, possibly due to his strenuous career as an NFL wide receiver. Nonetheless, he does not think that Jake Paul is as good of a boxer as people think he is.
Menery’s friendship with Dana White could make Tyreek Hill’s dreams come true. Incidentally, White was the one who mediated the conflict between Menery and Kyle Forgeard on his recent appearance on the FULL SEND podcast.
Boxing fans reacts to Tyreek Hill calling out Jake Paul
Even though boxing fans have a contentious relationship with Jake Paul, they think it is a bad idea for Tyreek Hill to box the crossover boxing star who happens to follow a strict diet and workout plan for his boxing success. Fans made their thoughts known via X of Hill’s callout of Paul.
“Robinson 2.0”, commented one fan who was seconded by another fan who commented, “It’s gonna be Jake vs Nate Robinson pt 2😭😂”. Both fans predicted a brutal knockout victory for Paul if he fought Tyreek Hill, similar to when Paul knocked Nate Robinson out cold in what was his second professional boxing match.
“Jake would sleep him real bad”, commented a felt that Paul had the prowess to knock out Hill in a boxing match. In his boxing career, Paul had knocked out veteran MMA fighters like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in addition to professional boxer Andre August. Moreover, he has even dropped Anderson Silva and severely hurt Nate Diaz.
“So first Tony Ferguson, Now Tyreek Hill, everybody wants to milk Jakey 🤣😂”, commented yet another fan who found it hilarious to see Hill call out Jake Paul just days after Tony Ferguson, the former interim UFC lightweight champion.
Jake Paul is scheduled to box Ryan Bourland on March 2 and is also poised to make his MMA debut with PFL later this year. Therefore, it is very unlikely that he would consider boxing Tyreek Hill. Nonetheless, a significant payday for both athletes could indeed make the fight happen.
