After an injury made Nick Kyrgios throw caution to the wind and take action to address his afflictions by undergoing surgery, talks in the tennis world were strife with speculations on when the Aussie would make a comeback.

Nick had a successful 2022 season where he reached the Wimbledon final and commentators of the sport were eager to see his fast-paced offensive play back in play for fans to rejoice in.

However, the 28-year-old dropped a disappointing update on OnlyFans by withdrawing from the 2024 Australian Open.

“This is a very disappointing time for me, but I won’t be able to compete at the 2024 Australian Open,” Kyrgios said.

“Obviously heartbreaking. I’ve had so many amazing memories there and I just want to really get back to playing at the top of my game and doing it right and I need a little more time.”

Nick’s injuries have been a roadblock for the Sydneysider and his absence from tennis has deprived fans of the sport of entertaining exchanges and quality shotmaking.

Nick eventually underwent surgery in January of this year and withdrew from the 2023 Australian Open. His rehabilitation process would prove to be a prolonged journey and he eventually missed the entirety of the 2023 season.

“It’s not looking likely. We are trying everything we can to have Nick ready on court as soon as possible,” Nick’s agent revealed in May this year after he withdrew from the French Open.

Nick is racing against time to make a comeback and in the meantime, he made an appearance on television as a sports pundit for Tennis Channel covering the Nitto ATP Finals.

He will aim to be back for the French Open, a tournament he hasn’t participated in since 2017. Until then, Nick will work hard in his home country of Australia by hitting the gym and practicing tennis.
