“No one’s beating this version”: Tyson Fury’s latest training footage has made fans concerned about Oleksandr Usyk

Professional boxing has never crowned an undisputed heavyweight champion in history and that is all set to change in May 18. Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury were scheduled to fight on February 17, but Fury suffered a nasty cut, and the faceoff has now shifted to May.

Will Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, become the undisputed heavyweight champion or will it be Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion? Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will set the stage for the highly anticipated matchup.

Tyson Fury training clip increased his support vs Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has had a negative reception in the boxing community after he eked past Francis Ngannou at the Battle of the Baddest. The performance of Fury against Ngannou made fans predict an easy victory for Usyk for their potential matchup.

However, Fury recently posted a video on Instagram where he was seen hitting pads with Bob Howard, the renowned coach of his younger half-brother, Tommy. The version of Fury in the video made fans change their prediction for the fight due to the speed and accuracy of the workout session.

SugarHill Steward has been the head coach of Fury since he fought Deontay Wilder for the first time. Fury training with Howard might be suggesting a change in coaching personnel. Howard has made considerable improvements with Tommy, which might be one reason for it.

Before Steward, Fury was coached by Ben Davison who is now the head coach of Anthony Joshua. Joshua roped in Davison before his fight with Otto Walin and has won his bouts via finish against Walin and Ngannou—two boxers who gave a tough test to Fury.

Oleksandr Usyk savagely responds to Tyson Fury training footage

Tyson Fury’s recent training video made the rounds on social media and as expected, got a savage response from his upcoming foe, Oleksandr Usyk. The unified boxing heavyweight champion responded with an Instagram story.

Usyk posted a video of him skipping rope with the caption “Your camp just started, mine never finished”. The Ukrainian has been in training camp since October as the original plan was to have Usyk versus Fury for December 2023 or January 2024. In fact, Usyk missed the birth of his third child, a daughter, as he was in a training camp in Spain.

The fight was announced before Fury even fought Ngannou but the ‘Gypsy King’ suffered injuries in his fight against Ngannou and rescheduled the fight for February 17. However, Fury again suffered a cut in sparring that further rescheduled the fight for May.

Usyk last fought Daniel Dubois in August 2023 in a controversial bout he won via knockout in the 9th round. With two victories over Anthony Joshua and an accomplished resume at cruiserweight and the Olympics, Usyk will hope to make history at Ring of Fire.
