Novak Djokovic outshines Carlos Alcaraz with a whopping $10,590,175 in ATP top 10 prize money earners list

Novak Djokovic seems to be having a season he will never forget. The 36-year-old tennis star has won three of the four Grand Slams of the season; he also saved a match point in Cincinnati and Adelaide; and he has made a record of 400 weeks as no. 1 in the world ranking. Not only that, Djokovic is the highest earner on the ATP earning list with a whopping $10,590,175.

Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Wimbledon championship, has accumulated a total of $9,603,679, sitting just second behind Djokovic in the ATP top 10 earners list.

Djokovic tops the list of ATP’s highest prize-money earners in 2023

Novak Djokovic cements his place at the top of the ATP earners list this season despite not playing in many ATP competitions. The main reason behind Novak Djokovic’s top spot is because he won three out of four Grand Slams this year, earning him a whopping $10,590,175 in addition to the $655,593 he earned last year.

If Novak Djokovic competes and wins at the Paris Masters, he would receive under $900,000, and if he also wins the ATP Finals in Turin undefeated, he would receive more than 4.7 million dollars. The last time a Serbian star failed to finish at the top of the earner list was in 2019, when Rafael Nadal was No. 1 with $16,349,586.

Carlos Alcaraz is second, earning $9,603,879. The Spanish star won the Wimbledon Championship, which won him a cheque of $2,741,726 while also reaching the semi-finals of the French Open and US Open. Daniil Medvedev comes in third, earning $7,833,244. The Russian star has won five titles this season, including the Miami Open and Italian Open and was also a finalist at the US Open and Indian Wells Open.

Jannik Sinner comes in fourth, earning $5,189,328 ($51,013 from doubles). The youngster has won three trophies this season, including the China Open and the Canadian Open. Last year, Sinner was outside the top ten, winning one title and earning $2,818,491. Andrey Rublev comes in fifth, earning $4,731,576 ($338,238 from doubles). The Russian won the maiden ATP Masters 1000 title at the Monte Carlo Masters and reached the quarterfinals of the three Grand Slams

Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the sixth spot, even though the Greek has one title so far this season which is the Los Cabos Open. The tennis star also finished runner-up to Djokovic at the Australian Open and reached the quarter-final of the French Open. Tsitsipas would earn $4,138,173 ($102,230 from doubles). Alexander Zverev is seventh, earning $3,645,582 ($97,001 from doubles). The former US Open finalist won the European Open and Chengdu Open and also reached the semifinals of the French Open.

Taylor Fritz is eight, winning two ATP 250 titles in this season far and reaching the quarterfinals of the US Open, earning him $3,370,858 ($86,638 from doubles). Hubert Hurkacz is ninth. The Pole recently won the Shanghai Open that made him pocket $1,262,220 and he also reached the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters. Hubert earns $3,348,781 ($98,249 from doubles). Holger Rune is the last on the top ten list earning $3,157,669 ($22,511 from doubles).
