The NY Knicks are on a hot streak at the moment with Jalen Brunson firing on all cylinders. With the playoffs just around the corner, the Knicks are looking to maintain the form and fitness to give them the best chance against the NBA’s bests.
But a new problem popped up for the team in the shape of OG Anunoby. With only 14 games left in the regular season, the talented defensive player’s latest woes have put the franchise in serious anxiety.
Knicks in concern with OG Anunoby situation
OG Anunoby went under the operating table after a loose bone particle was discovered in his shooting hand. After the surgery on February 8, the British forward returned to action within three weeks.
This is where the trouble began. On Monday reports surfaced that Anunoby’s right elbow had a flare-up, ruling him out of the Warriors game. While his return timeline is unknown as of now, the Knicks will keep their fingers crossed to get the player back into the team as soon as possible with the playoffs looming.

Since joining the team from the Raptors in December, the 26-year-old has become a regular in the Knicks fixtures thanks to his outstanding defensive qualities. The Knicks feel his absence as the NY franchise is 10-10 without him while boasting a 15-2 record with him available. However, his absence on Monday night did not hamper the Knicks’ win over the Warriors.
Knicks overcome Warriors to solidify playoff seed
Despite some “dogsh*t” performances recently, the Knicks have enjoyed a 3-game win run coming into the game vs the Warriors. With the Golden State finding themselves in a play-in scenario in the Western Conference, they needed a big win against the 4th-seeded side of the Eastern Conference. But the Knicks had a plan of their own.

The Knicks were quick off the mark in the first quarter to take a 30-22 lead. The lead was cut short in the second quarter, but the Knicks took charge in the 3rd. Jalen Brunson added to his fine form by scoring 34 points on the night, outscoring Stephen Curry by 7 points.
Brunson’s 5 rebounds and 7 assists were backed up by a Josh Hart triple-double with 11 rebounds and assists each along with 10 points who has solidified himself as one of the workhorses in the league. Miles McBride was also not far away from the assault with his 29 points in 47 minutes.
With the 119-112 win over the GSW, the Knicks are 41-27 this season with harder challenges to come in the form of the Nuggets next on Mar. 21.
