It is reported that he is prepared to return should the right opportunity arise.

Spanish shot-stopper David De Gea rejected offers from a handful of clubs around the world that were keen to hire him, choosing instead to remain out of work since last summer. Even during the January transfer window, he showed no intent of hurrying back to the pitch to join a new club.
According to the latest report from The Sun, the 33-year-old has made up his mind to relaunch his career in his homeland’s top division, La Liga, and is willing to wait patiently for the best possible offer he could receive in the summer.
This means that he might return to his boyhood club, Atlético Madrid, or even join rival Real Madrid—a club that has tried to sign him in the past and had nearly secured his signature from Manchester United in 2015.
