Paulo Costa drags Jon Jones, Conor McGregor into Jamahal Hill arrest case with recent social media activity

Paulo Costa, a formidable force in the octagon, showcases his humorous side on social media through entertaining trolls. Seizing the opportunity, he didn’t hesitate to poke fun at fellow UFC fighters following the news about former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill.

Costa’s most recent fight was at UFC 278, and although scheduled for UFC 294 against Khamzat Chimaev, he had to withdraw due to injury. Kamaru Usman stepped in as his replacement, ultimately losing the fight via majority decision against Chimaev.

Paulo Costa reacts to Jamahal Hill arrest

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was arrested earlier this week on a domestic violence charge filed by his brother. While details about the situation remain unclear, Paulo Costa, true to his humorous nature, seized the opportunity to inject some levity into the matter.

Paulo Costa uploaded a collage of the mug shot of UFC fighters who were arrested by the police with the caption, “U never gonna see my face here šŸ™ŒšŸ‘”. The mugshot comprised of high-level UFC athletes like Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Cain Velasquez, BJ Penn, and Nick Diaz among others.

McGregor has faced legal issues on multiple occasions, similar to Jon Jones. Jorge Masvidal had a history as a street thug before entering MMA and was recently acquitted of an assault case filed by fellow UFC welterweight Colby Covington. Cain Velasquez has a past conviction related to an attempted murder charge involving a child molester.

The interesting thing to note is that Arman Tsarukyan and Bobby Green recently had an altercation at the Athlete Hotel. This combined with domestic violence charges on Jamahal Hill is the main topic of debate in the MMA community over the upcoming UFC Austin Fight Night.

Costa’s potential UFC return date

Paulo Costa has not competed since his bout against Luke Rockhold at UFC 278. Initially slated to face Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main event of UFC 294, Costa had to withdraw due to a staph infection. Notably, he was involved in an altercation with the audience during the event.

Costa recently tweeted about his comeback, “Jan 20 šŸ¤œšŸ”„šŸ¤›”. Jan 20 is when UFC 297 is going to happen in Canada. The event is headlined by a middleweight title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. Interestingly, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whitaker posted a training picture on Instagram tagging Paulo Costa.

In subsequent tweets, Costa hinted at a potential fight with Whitaker at UFC 297. However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from the UFC. Whitaker and Costa were previously scheduled to fight, but Costa withdrew, criticizing the UFC for announcing the event before a contract was signed.

In Costa’s recent tweet, he mentioned, “They gonna announce my fight in Miami on March 9, but I just checked, and my visa expires in January. Is there a Mexican online to make the crossing for cheap?”

While Costa’s return date is not yet confirmed, his tweets suggest a possible participation in either UFC 297 on January 20 or UFC 299 on March 9. UFC 299 is headlined by Sean O’Malley and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera. Who do you think will win if Paulo Costa fought Robert Whitaker? Leave your comments below!
