It is a great time to be a basketball fan from Arizona. The Phoenix Suns secured the win against the Utah Jazz in their first home game of the season following their loss vs the Lakers. Although two key players of the Suns squad were out with injuries the supporting teammates proved themselves in this match.
At the halftime of the game, the owner of the franchise, Mat Ishbia came out on the court to introduce the new Ring of Honor. He invited the members and presented them with exclusive watches as a memento of the great moment. Suns legends including Charles Barkley and Steve Nash delivered a heartwarming speech to the crowd present there.

The Ring of Honor is the Suns’ way of appreciating and recognizing players who have given their all for the team in their careers. It started back in 1999 and over the years many notable players have been inducted into the Ring of Honor. Last Saturday the latest rendition of Ring of Honor was introduced by the owner Mat Ishiba.
NBA legend Charles Barkley and Steve Nash gave emotional heartwarming speeches which left many in the crowd tearful. Nash initiated the speech and said, “On behalf of all the Ring of Honor inductees, I want to say it means the world to us. This way to be connected to this franchise, and this city and we can’t wait to have an incredible season this year for the Suns.”
Barkley then proceeded to take the stage and said, “I just want to say Thankyou, Thankyou Thankyou to Mat and the entire Phoenix Suns organization. You guys are the best and I have said this a hundred times, ‘I ain’t never leaving Arizona until I’m dead!”
How many NBA players got inducted into the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor ceremony?
After emotional speeches by Steve Nash and Charles Barkley, the Suns unveiled their permanent banner above the rafters where each inductee will be immortalized in the future. A total of sixty players had been invited to the game and were highlighted by the franchise. Most of them were in attendance of the match and proceedings from a suite.
Players inducted in the Ring of Honor include Alvan Adams (33), Tom Chambers (24), Walter Davis (6), Charles Barkley (34), Connie Hawkins (42), Dan Majerle (9), Steve Nash (13), Kevin Johnson (7), Dick Van Arsdale (5), Paul Westphal (44), Amar’e Stoudemire (32, will be inducted on March 2) and Marion (31, will be inducted on December 15).
Jerry Colangelo, John MacLeod, Joe Proski, Cotton Fitzsimmons, and Al McCoy were some other prominent figures from the Suns franchise who were inducted into the Ring of Honor.
