Police report death of 16-year-old after fatal shooting massacre occurred during high school football match in Oklahoma

Due to the intense rivalry between Choctaw High School and Del City High School, the game between the two schools on Saturday saw a huge attendance. A sizable crowd flooded the Oklahoma stadium to watch their Friday night game.

To their greatest surprise, rather than fans enjoying the game, the game attracted attention because of a horrific shooting mishap that claimed the life of one supporter. The incident, which took place in the presence of seven Choctaw police officers and two off-duty Del City officers at the time, raised eye browns on the security system of the game.

According to reports, at least two males got into a fight before the accident, and during the third quarter of the game, bullets were fired on the other side of the stadium at Choctaw High School. The event was reported by Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall and he also provided an update on the discovery of two firearms and eight rounds at the scene.

“It is believed an argument started between at least two males which led to the shooting,” Marshall said. “Two guns and eight rounds were recovered at the scene.”

Governor Kevin Stitt expressed his sorrow over the incident and stated that Choctaw law enforcement and the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety were being kept informed.

“My office is in contact with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety and Choctaw law enforcement and we’re monitoring the situation,” Stitt said.

An officer from the Del City Police Department who was working security at the game was fired as a result of the fatal accident, and the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office was apparently tasked with looking into the discharge.
