Report: Four Manchester United players involved in dressing room altercation
Manchester United continued their poor start to the season with yet another defeat to Brighton on Saturday. Brighton completely dominated the Red Devils at Old Trafford, and the score line at the end was 3-1. United’s only goal was scored by teenage sensation Hannibal Mejbri. The loss was their third in the last five games, and fans booed the players and manager after the game.
Apparently, after the heavy defeat, there was a big altercation involving four players in the dressing room. According to the Sun, the players involved were captain Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof.
The source further said that Bruno had picked out midfielder Scott McTominay in the dressing room. Additionally, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof, who had been the center backs for the game, also verbally assaulted each other. The incident required manager Erik Ten Haag to intervene and put a stop to it. It is still unknown what the full extent of the altercations were.
Manchester United’s miserable early season
Manchester United have had other problems off the pitch as well. With Mason Greenwood finally getting game time at Getafe, many thought the controversies would stop. But then several allegations against Brazilian forward Antony started surfacing. He was accused by three different women, including his girlfriend of having assaulted them. This led to much backlash, and he is currently suspended from the team.
Another star winger, Jadon Sancho, is also banished from the team. He had publicly defended himself after his manager openly claimed that he was not training properly. This led to a fallout between the pair.
With many injuries also plaguing the team, such as those of Sofyan Amrabat and Raphael Varane, Erik is not getting the best out of his team. This has led to United losing crucial games against Tottenham, Arsenal, and Brighton, and now they are in 13th place in the Premier League with just six points.
