QB Kirk Cousins’ replacement Josh Dobbs describes how tough it is to operate the Vikings offense: “Like if you were taking AP Spanish”

The Minnesota Vikings’s failure to advance their journey this season with their starter Kirk Cousins coincided with the failure of Josh Dobbs to build a stellar resume with the Arizona Cardinals. These odds turned even when the failures led them to tie a knot in the last month, before the trade deadline.

Even though everything initially appears to be simple, after a few days in the new setting, one realizes the degree of challenge they may face in the future. Dobbs has discovered him in the same situation, raising concerns in the QB’s mind.

Josh Dobbs explains the difficulties of running the Vikings’ offense

Every NFL chapter begins with challenges because team management has high hopes for the new face. Occasionally, it steals a player’s restful evening out of concern about giving his team the results they need.

Just one week following his new journey in Minnesota, Josh Dobbs is evidently struggling to cope with the offensive schemes of the Vikings team. For Josh, the situation is like taking preparation for one subject but appearing in the exam for another subject, as the offensive tactics of the Cardinals and Vikings defer much.

“It’s like if you were taking AP Spanish all year, you showed up on Wednesday and someone told you you have an AP French exam on Sunday. That’s what was going on out there.”

Prior to this move, the Vikings lost Cousins in Week 8, when the quarterback suffered a season-ending injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Green Bay Packers.

Josh Dobbs’s performance in the NFL this year

After taking over the spot from Kyler Murray, Josh Dobbs couldn’t lead the Cardinals toward an upward trajectory and fell short of expectations by earning a poor 1-7 record in his eight starts. He went 167-of-266 passing for 1,569 yards and scored eight touchdowns as well as a total of five interceptions for an 81.2 passer rating.

As the signal-caller lost his position to Cardinals rookie QB Clayton Tune, the Vikings took the opportunity to enroll him in their roster ahead of the trade deadline. The Cardinals traded him along with a 7th-round pick to Cousins’ squad in exchange for a 6th-round pick. The deal also had conditions attached to the trade that are set to make the 7th-round pick that the Arizona-based team sent to the Vikings a sixth-round pick.

However, after landing in Minnesota, the 31-year-old was determined to gear up himself and he did so successfully after moonlighting as a hero to lead the Vikings towards a 31-28 victory against the Atlanta Falcons. The vet was 20-of-30 passing for 158 yards while scoring two touchdowns without any interceptions through the air while adding 66 yards as well as another touchdown on the ground.

Per the Minnesota Vikings, the performance earned Josh Dobbs the accolade of the NFC Offensive Player of the Week along with the nod of NASA. Besides that, he is also the highest-rated QB on ESPN this week, a great start after a series of lackluster performances.
