The NFL combine is a great place for up-and-coming athletes to show off their skills and get picked up by NFL franchises struggling for form, which could kill for some fresh blood in their ranks. These franchises look to introduce the youngsters to their setup and hone their talent to become the best in the business.
As it turns out, it is also a place for some athletes who have been sleeping on for a number of years to prove their mettle and show the world what they are made of finally. And in the case of former Tennessee Volunteer Joe Milton III, that is exactly the case.
“Hey, I’m Joe. Just run as far as you can”: Joe Milton III made several 70+ yard throws
In the combine event, the likes of Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels opted out of the throwing and testing, which created a chance for Joe to shine, and that is exactly what he did with his beastly throws into the distance and his incredible poise on the ball, qualities every NFL franchise looks for in a QB prospect.
“I pretty much study offense every day. Whenever I have free time. Even when I’m playing the game, I have films running just so that I can have memorization of the plays that I have studied,” said the 23-year-old, who is raring to go and show off his skills for an NFL outfit this upcoming season.
Former NFL QB praises Joe Milton III’s muscular power: “his arm strength alone will separate him from the rest of the quarterback class”
Joe Milton III’s throws have become a telltale sign of his qualities, as he completed several 70+ yard throws in his combine display. It looks like his class on the ball might have been picked up by a handful of former NFL QBs who are lining him up as the next big thing on the market.
According to Sports Illustrated, former NFL QB Brady Quinn spoke about Milton’s performance after the combine show. He said, “[NFL scouts will] look at it and say, ‘We feel like we can work with this guy, we feel like we can mold this guy into something special,’ and that’s really where I think Joe Milton can improve himself over everyone else because his arm strength alone will separate him from the rest of the quarterback class.”
