Tottenham Hotspur started the Premier League campaign sensationally under their new manager. However, they lost track as the season progressed. Now, they are aiming to reinforce their team squad with some pivotal additions in January, the latest being Timo Werner’s loan move from the Bundesliga.
While Bayern Munich is also plotting moves to make the required modifications to the team’s depth, closely working with Spurs on bringing English defender Eric Dier after securing Harry Kane from the English outfit in the summer of 2023, these two sides are now clashing against each other for Radu Dragusin.
Tottenham reportedly agree to Radu Dragusin transfer
Spurs are urgently searching for a center-back in the market this January. Following uncertainty over Eric Dier’s future at the club and major concerns arising from the sidelining of their formidable defensive duo, Christian Romero and Mickey van de Ven due to injury.
Consequently, their boss Ange Postecoglou has lined up full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in the backline as the makeshift center-back pairing due to a shortage of players in the position.
The London club identified Genoa defender Radu Dragusin as their prime target in this transfer window. They have reached an agreement to sign the Romanian, offering a £25 million bid plus add-ons. Additionally, Spurs have offered Djed Spence on loan to a Serie A club until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old defender, who moved to Genoa from Juventus in the summer of 2022, is having an impressive campaign in the Italian top division. Integral to Genoa’s promotion last season from Serie B, he has started all 22 fixtures this season, displaying a rock-solid performance at the back.
Bayern Munich submit improvised bid for Radu Dragusin
Radu Dragusin had initial offers from the reigning Serie A Champions Napoli. However, his preferred choice remained the Premier League. In the latest turn of events, the most recent report suggests Bayern Munich is considering hijacking the Romanian international’s transfer to Spurs with a last gasp bid.
It is reported that the Bundesliga champions are likely to outbid Spurs with an improvised offer of £26.7 million, along with additional bonuses for the young Genoa defender. Both clubs are addressing the deal as a top priority to land Dragusin in their respective squads in January.
The Bavarians held talks with Radu Dragusin, and their Boss Thomas Tuchel has also spoken to the Radu discussing his chances of playing in Munich. Meanwhile, the Spurs’ offer is still valid, and now it all comes down to the player’s choice whether he decides between England and Germany as his next destination.
