“Ramadan Kyrie is different”: Kyrie Irving’s dunk from Luka Doncic alley-oop sends NBA Twitter into frenzy

Just a week ago, the Dallas Mavericks were fending off the Lakers and the Warriors for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. But now the scenario has drastically changed, with the Mavs pulling themselves clear of the crowd to secure a sixth spot on the table.

Most of the credit for this upward movement should go to Luka Doncic, who has been ruling the league with an iron fist lately. To double the trouble for the opponents, Kyrie Irving has joined the fray, ands their tandem provided a highlight reel moment against the Jazz.

Kyrie Irving steals the show with massive dunk against Jazz

The Dallas Mavericks won the game against the Utah Jazz by 113-97 but the highlight of the show was Luka Doncic’s alley-oop, which was converted into an outstanding basket by none other than the Mavs star Kyrie Irving.

The Slovenian guard has been dropping sensational performances and smashing records week-in, week-out since the NBA All-Star break. Following his picture-perfect pass against the San Antonio Spurs, his flawless alley-oop helped Irving score a basket against the Utah franchise.

During the third quarter of the game, Doncic received a loose ball, which he carried to the opposite side of the court. To avoid getting blocked, he flipped the ball to Irving, who looked prepared for a dunk and a bam! The scoreboard read Mavericks at 75 with more than 7 minutes left in the quarter.

The 31-year-old Kyrie Irving has been putting up great numbers even after fasting following the sacred traditions of Ramadan. The 8-time All-Star scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists whereas the 2024 MVP contender Doncic scored a game-high 34 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists missing another one of his triple-doubles by slight numbers.

With Kyrie Irving hitting a different gear all together, Mavs fans would have hoped if the Ramadan stretched till late April instead of April 9.
