Ahead of the training camp, Sean McVay revealed he and his wife Veronika were expecting a baby to arrive in late October. On Tuesday, the duo welcomed their baby boy named Jordan John McVay, and the Rams social media handle found a hilarious approach to announce the big news.
The NFL community has been speculating about the Rams’ HC potentially missing a game due to the birth of his child. Though the vet earlier spoke about missing a campaign if that collides with the day of his child’s birth, he later said his son would not arrive on the earth on a game day.
“I think there was a lot made about me missing a game. I’m not going to miss a game. My son knows better.”
The HC proved right as Jordan didn’t certainly let his father miss a game. He also shared a backstory saying when they learned about Jordan’s initial due date, it made him realize “something special going on.”
“If you don’t believe in a higher power, there’s certain things that occur that you realize there’s something special going on,” Sean McVay said via NBC Sports.
However, McVay would surely hope to welcome his boy to the world with a potential win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Cowboys anticipate home advantage in showdown with Rams
After enjoying the bye week, the Cowboys will host the Rams at AT&T Stadium in their third home game of the season. The Dallas team had played only two home games over the first six contests of the 2023 NFL season and won both of them. Hence, the team is a hot favorite to secure a win against the Rams in Week 8.
As the Cowboys’ five of the next seven games are at home, head coach Mike McCarthy also said that they are strongly eyeing to take home advantage.
“We broke down the season into trimesters … and obviously it flips here in the next six games. We want to take advantage of it. More games are lost in September than are won. Now, your productivity, your continuity, your consistency really has to take a big step here in this second trimester.”
Regarding play, Micah Parsons is claimed to be the only veteran to shine on the defensive side of the Cowboys team, albeit their recent 20-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers proved how elite the team’s D-line can be on the field when the time comes.
Meanwhile, the Rams’ defense showcased a poor stat by being staunch for three quarters in the 17-24 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, allowing 78 net yards and four first downs.
