Rare Michael Jordan card hits auction market with six-figure staring price

Michael Jordan memorabilia are among the most coveted items in the world of basketball. Since his retirement in 2003, several items used by Jordan throughout his career have surfaced on the auction market. Just like that, yet another valuable collectible has made its presence known which has put the collectors on high alert.

Recently, Goldin auction house put a Michael Jordan signed Logoman Patch card from the 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection up for bidding. The bidding is due to start this Friday with an initial bid of $250,000.

The prize is indicative of the rarity of the card, which also comes with a game-worn patch from the Bulls legend’s jersey and authentic signature. It is worth mentioning that this is the first and only Chicago Bulls MJ Logoman card as all of his other cards of this brand are in his Wizards colors.

But fret not, this is not the only thing currently on auction connected to MJ’s legacy.

Michael Jordan shoes to sell for over $500K

In another auction being held by Robert Edward Auctions (REA), Michael Jordan’s rookie year sneaker is available for bidding. The current bid on the shoe at the time of writing is at $145,000, with more than 3 and a half days remaining till the end of the bidding process.

According to the auction organizers, this pair of Nike Air Ship sneakers are in their first ever auction, making them a high-value collectible. The consignor of the shoes formerly worked as a Detroit Pistons ball boy from 1983 to 1986 with valid papers backing the claim made available on the selling site.

Recently, Jordan’s ‘Dynasty Collection’ was auctioned by Sotheby’s for a whopping $8 million. Another Jordan item auctioned this year was his BMW from 1991. But the ultimate piece of his Airness’ unparalleled legacy is the $10.1 million jersey from the 1998 season NBA Finals game 1. This amount is a record for a game-worn jersey by any athlete.

The current two memorabilia on auction are projected to keep on par with the trend of eye-popping numbers that only a Michael Jordan artifact can fetch.
