Red Bull team principal explains how Max Verstappen’s “out of this world” talent sets him apart from F1 teammate Sergio Perez

Red Bull’s reign of dominance is led by Max Verstappen, the driver who has created new history in the industry. The Dutchman is undoubtedly blessed with talent and natural confidence that no other driver on the track has.

At a very young age, the Red Bull driver accomplished achievements that most drivers achieve much later in the sport by gaining a lot of experience. Along with thousands of fans admiring the two-time World Champion’s skills, the team’s boss is undoubtedly a fan of his work too.

Christian Horner compares Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez

Red Bull’s team boss, Christian Horner, admires Verstappen’s abilities since he joined the team in 2016. The way the driver polished himself now in his mid-20’s made him a rare diamond in the Formula One Industry.

Horner also compared the Dutch to Sergio Perez, who is struggling to defend his P2 spot in the Drivers’ Championship. Both of the drivers have a huge difference in their performances along with their paces. The team’s boss stated that Verstappen’s level of confidence is at such a height that it cannot be reached easily by other drivers and so Perez is having difficulty coping throughout the races.

When asked about Verstappen’s performances, Christian Horner stated, “I think he’s just got this feel for the car, for the limits of grip, he’s got such a confidence in himself and his ability.”

“His ability to get there so quickly, you look at his laps, the first time you turn up at a grand prix or a new circuit, his first lap of the day will often be two, three seconds quicker than anybody else. And you see a little bit of rain, boom, suddenly that gap goes like that.”

“He has tremendous natural feel, and the ability to understand what the car needs from his input to get the most out of it. And it’s fascinating to see because he just adapts so quickly to a situation or condition with a car.”

He explained further when asked what makes Verstappen stand out from his teammates: “I think he’s just got this feel for the car, for the limits of grip, he’s got such a confidence in himself and his ability,”

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s chemistry in F1 circuit

Both of the drivers have a pretty good relationship off camera, outside the grounds. However, on the race track, they have a lack of compatibility, which results in Verstappen being the man of the match no matter how hard it is, while Sergio Perez has difficulty keeping up with his teammate.

Although Sergio Perez is not a perfect outstanding driver, he tries his best when on the grounds which becomes a lot more difficult for the Mexican, when Verstappen effortlessly becomes the main center of attention. Hence, a lot of work is needed to strengthen their teamwork as a whole.
