Rhea Ripley 2023 Recap: What notable achievements did Mami acquire this year?

The four horsewomen of the WWE have established their profiles in the pro wrestling circuit, leaving only a few women who could prove their dominance. Rhea Ripley is one such woman who has proven herself to be a key player on Judgment Day and one of the most successful female stars in the history of the WWE Universe.

Let’s analyze the accomplishments of Judgment Day’s Eradicator in the year 2023 and the impressive feats she achieved due to her passion for the sport.

What are Rhea Ripley’s notable achievements in 2023?

Many aspiring pro wrestlers dream of achieving great success at a young age, but only a few are able to make it a reality. Rhea Ripley is one such wrestler who has achieved great success at the age of 27, joining the Stamford-based wrestling promotion at the age of 21.

The Eradicator has achieved a lot in her career, but she’s not done yet. Earlier this year, she won the Royal Rumble, entering in the first spot and lasting almost 61 minutes. This broke the previous record of 57 minutes and 10 seconds held by Bianca Belair.

Ripley is also the fifth Women’s Grand Slam champion in the WWE, having won the NXT Women’s Championship in December 2019, the women’s tag team title in 2021, the Raw women’s title at WrestleMania 37, and the Smackdown women’s title at WrestleMania 39. She achieved all of this in just 1200 days, making her the quickest female superstar to complete the Grand Slam.

She didn’t just display her strength against women, but also against men. She had a promo battle with Randy Orton on his first night back on WWE Monday Night Raw. She also had an on-screen segment with Paul Heyman on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. If these weren’t enough, she even put Wes Lee through the announce table with a riptide at the Great American Bash.

Rhea Ripley set to kick off 2024 with defending Women’s World Title

Rhea Ripley has held the WWE Women’s World Championship for 269 days, successfully defending her title against challengers like Natalya, Zoey Stark, Raquel Rodriguez, and Zelina Vega. Two weeks ago, on an episode of Monday Night Raw, a new challenger emerged, and that superstar is none other than NXT sensation Ivy Nile.

After JD McDonagh lost to R-Truth in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight, Ripley was visibly frustrated with Judgment Day. She chastised them for McDonagh’s lackluster performance and stressed to them that they needed to make “examples” of those who dared step on them. To emphasize her point, Ripley announced that she will not only face Ivy Nile on “WWE Raw: Day 1” in two weeks, but she will also put her WWE Women’s World Championship on the line.

During Judgment Day’s match against The Creed Brothers on the December 11 episode of Raw, Ripley attempted to lift Nile with her shoulders. However, Nile was able to reverse the move and lift Ripley onto her shoulders, slamming her into the ring apron in an impressive show of strength.

While Judgment Day ultimately won the match against The Creed Brothers, Ripley still has yet to make an example out of Nile. After Ivy Nile expressed her desire to face Rhea Ripley on the December 18 episode of WWE Raw, the Women’s World Champion agreed to give her a title shot on the “Day 1” episode of WWE Monday Night Raw on January 1.
