Ric Flair splashes cash over expensive gift after controversial comments in front of live crowd

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair received criticism for his presence in All Elite Wrestling. He allegedly made inappropriate comments during a promo with wrestling legend Sting, inviting 18–28-year-old women to come to his hotel room with no boyfriends and no husbands. Due to this offensive and inappropriate comment, he received heavy backlash from fans.

However, The Nature Boy has done something extravagant amid the criticism that he is facing. He has gifted a very expensive gift to the AEW superstar, Orange Cassidy, worth the astonishing value of $2000.

Ric Flair shells out $2000 on sunglasses

Wrestling legend Ric Flair gifted a pair of expensive sunglasses to Orange Cassidy, the current AEW Champion, after his recent appearances on Dynamite and Rampage. In backstage footage shared on social media by AEW, Ric Flair can be seen presenting the sunglasses to Cassidy, which he claimed cost two thousand dollars.

In 2021, Ric Flair appeared with Orange Cassidy in a TikTok video, where Cassidy gifted Flair a pair of shades in a limited word exchange. Recently, Cassidy gifted Flair a $2,000 Rolex watch, which is a relatively expensive gift for someone he barely knows. However, now Cassidy can truly say that he has the ‘Ric Flair drip’, quite literally.

Flair landed in hot waters after controversial comments

Wrestling veteran Ric Flair has stated that he is willing to leave the AEW promotion if he feels that he is causing embarrassment to CEO Tony Khan and the company as a whole. Flair is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, but he has been involved in several controversial incidents throughout his career. This time, a promo that he delivered caused some trouble.

Ric Flair took the mic during Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage. However, it’s possible that the management will edit some of his words out. Rampage was recorded on Wednesday after Dynamite, meaning Flair’s promo has already happened. Some of his remarks were deemed offensive, as he extended an invitation to all the women in the audience, aged 18 to 28, to join him in his hotel room during the segment. This caused a huge ruckus on the internet as the fans criticized his statement.

After receiving criticism on social media, The Nature Boy issued an apology on Twitter for his previous statement in the promo.

“I am so tired of hearing all this negativity! I don’t need to work, and I don’t need the money. Can’t I simply enjoy being by my dear friend Sting’s side for the next few months without so much hatred? I know I’m old, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy life! I have earned the right to do whatever I want, and I’m exactly where I want to be! I appreciate everything, @TonyKhan, but I’m more than willing to walk away if I am embarrassing you and your company. All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry!” wrote Ric Flair.
