WWE legend Rob Van Dam, one of Steve Austin’s former colleagues, has recently shared that his experience working with the Texas Rattlesnake wasn’t pleasant. According to RVD, Austin’s personality was very overbearing, which made it uncomfortable for other wrestlers in the locker room.

RVD discusses his working experience with Stone Cold

Stone Cold Steve Austin is known for being a tough and straightforward person both inside and outside the wrestling ring. During the Attitude Era, Austin was one of the leaders in the locker room. During a recent episode of Rob Van Dam’s “1 of a Kind” podcast, he shared his experience working with Steve Austin during his leadership tenure.

Rob revealed that it was not a pleasant experience working with Austin, as he always exercised his authority. Rob also mentioned that he never felt like they were on the same level, and Austin was intimidating all the time.

RVD stated that he felt the need to push back when a lot of younger talent would suck up to Austin because of his position as a locker room leader, which made him uncomfortable. Although it was initially difficult, RVD admitted that he has always liked Austin.

“I’ve always liked Steve, but working with him in WWE, when I was getting a big push, it wasn’t like he was just a colleague or someone I worked with, which made me uneasy,” said RVD.

Details on Stone Cold’s potential match with CM Punk

Former WWE superstar Matt Morgan has suggested that WWE could potentially arrange for CM Punk to go up against Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Street Fight at WrestleMania 40. CM Punk made a comeback to the company last month at Survivor Series WarGames 2023, and fans have been speculating about his opponent at WrestleMania 40.

Although some reports have suggested that he may compete against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at the greatest WWE event of the year, others have claimed that there was a proposal for him to face Stone Cold Steve Austin instead.

During a recent episode of the “Gigantic Pop” podcast, Matt Morgan shared his thoughts on the possibility of a match between CM Punk and the 59-year-old wrestling legend at WrestleMania next April. He suggested that the company could book them in a Street Fight match. He said, “They could get away with a Street Fight. I would pay money for that.”

However, there is still no official confirmation on whether there is a deal going on between WWE and Steve Austin. Therefore, these are just speculations, but fans are still eager to see the man from the Attitude Era compete against the Second City Saint.
