Robert Lewandowski hasn’t had the best of times at Barcelona this season. His somewhat underwhelming performances has given rise to wide speculations regarding the Polish striker’s future, with reports even placing him in Saudi Arabia in the near future.
The former Bayern Munich striker joined the Catalan club to much fanfare when he was without a doubt the best finisher at the time alongside Karim Benzema, who eventually won the 2022 Ballon d’Or, before joining the Saudi Pro League the following summer to play in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lewandowski instantly hit the ground running when he joined Barcelona. His goals helped Barcelona land their first La Liga title under new manager Xavi, building the foundation for an apparent resurgence under the former Barcelona captain. He scored 23 goals in 34 La Liga games, assisting a further seven, taking his total goal contribution to 30. He ended that season with 33 goals and eight assists in 46 appearances in all competitions, marking a productive season for him.
Sadly, he hasn’t been at his best this season, scoring just 20 goals in all competitions. This has caused his future to be thrown in the air, with reports linking him with a move away from the club, especially since Xavi is also stepping down from his role as manager at the end of the season.
However, Robert Lewandowski has reportedly turned down a huge financial package from an unidentified Saudi club. The deal is said to be worth more than €100 million per season, which would make him one of the highest-paid players in the world.

Even with his season not going well, a surprise transfer rumor is swirling around the struggling Polish striker. La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly eyeing the forward for a summer move. Journalist Ruben Uria suggests a sneaky transfer plan could be in the works to facilitate this unexpected deal.
Lewandowski wants to remain at Barcelona for at least one more season. Lewandowski signed a four-year contract two years ago, and he has two more years to spend at the club. His contract will expire in the summer of 2028, and it’s not yet clear what plans people at Barcelona have for him.
