Roman Reigns aims: John Cena’s legacy falls short compared to his four-year universal title reign

Roman Reigns is main-eventing WrestleMania 40 as he is scheduled to fight against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. ‘The Big Dog’ has held the title for 1,298+ days and aims to surpass every Hall of Famer by becoming the longest-reigning champion.

A short while back, ‘The Tribal Chief’ targeted the 16-time World Champion John Cena and proclaimed himself better than the ‘Cenation Leader’. Roman’s focus remains on carrying his legacy and continuing his four-year universal title reign rather than becoming a multiple-time champion like John Cena.

Roman Reigns takes a shot at John Cena’s legacy

The Head of the Table, Roman Reigns recently shared his view on being a superior champion to WWE superstar John Cena. ‘The Tribal Cheif’ has been the reining champion for 4 years and he expressed that this record is greater than being a 16-times champion like John Cena. According to Reigns, Cena was unable to achieve his streak, so he is in no way higher ranking than him in championship comparison.

Reigns became the title holder in 2020 at Payback, where he defeated Braun Strawman and the late WWE star Bray Wyatt to become the champion. The Bloodline leader’s record as the undefeated stands at almost 1300 days and fans speculate he will continue to remain the champ until he surpasses Hulk Hogan’s record of 1,474 days.

John Cena is one of the athletes who created the very image of the industry with his charisma. He has been in the business for 20+ years and has reigned multiple times as the World Champion. Cena’s record of being a 16-time world champion remains equal with ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. In recent years, the 46-year-old wrestler has transitioned his career in Hollywood, and he has been out of full-time competition since the year 2016.

Although Roman denies John being more worthy than him, there is no doubt that Cena has a great hand in shaping WWE into what it is today. Even though Reigns’ record is longer than John’s, fans still agree both are great in their own respective positions.

One WWE fan brutally insults Roman Reigns’ acknowledgment

The recent week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw Roman Reigns coming to a face-to-face confrontation with ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes. The blue brand featured a promo segment between both superstars and after that came to an end, a fan in the arena insulted ‘The Big Dog’ and refused to acknowledge him.

The fans said, “You need a room full of strangers to acknowledge your little b*tch ass??” Roman remained professional throughout the whole part even after the fan yelled at him, the WWE star has yet to address this discretion.

During an interview recently, Roman said that he is still not at his full potential and the future holds more promising paths for him. “Yeah, yeah. I’m just scratching the surface. I’m still figuring. We’re still experimenting, figuring stuff out. There’s so much room left. I’m 38 years young. I’m a young man. I have so much stuff to do left. There are so many different… If we were able to do this in four years, imagine what we can conquer in another decade?”
